We did this hiking walk from El Bosque Town to Benamahoma. The entrance was not well signposted on the El Bosque town side if you are a tourist in the area, but we asked 2 local ladies who gave us ample instructions. This is a walk that you must not miss if you are in the area. The nearer you got to Benamahoma, the more beautiful the river became. The walk is fairly simple, although some areas might be more tricky if you have mobility issues. It was supposed to take about 2 hours at a comfortable pace, but we stopped several times to admire the areas and the beautiful birds. On reaching Benamahoma, there are public toilets very clean and well kept. Restrictions in the area are no swimming in the river or putting up picnic chairs, etc.

We loved this short route. We did it by road bikes (bad idea, we had to carry them most of the way) but it's a medium difficult path on foot. And the possibility of cooling yourself in the brook is exceptional! Just please take your garbage with you!

Awesome trail along the stream (officially a river) from Benamahoma to El Bosque, about 10 km round trip. The trail is shaded along much of it's route which helps keep it cool even on a hot day (is was 30+ degrees when we walked it but with the shade it was fine). There are some rocky sections and stone stairs so you need to be in reasonable shape but in general an easy trail.

Nice easy walk. Lot's of shade cover. Avoid at the weekends as it can get very busy.

Brilliant walk, about 1hr 30 mins each way. Loads of waterfalls and a really enjoyable few hours in nature. With a nice drink half way.

Wonderful trail with many areas the trees hang over for shade and beauty. Small stream is perfectly clear water and very pretty

Great hiking trail along the river. Quite easy, though some of the areas were slightly challenging (steps).

Great route, but start early to enjoy it on your own! The route indicates that it is 5km each way and takes 2 hours each way. However we completed the 10km in roughly 2h45 and we don't walk fast.

We started the route at 8:30am on a Saturday, and I would recommend anyone to do the same. By 11am all the large groups of walkers were out, and that ruins the tranquility, on a Sunday this would be even worse.

Start at Benamahoma, walk to El Bosque, have a coffee in the cafeteria at the end of the walk in El Bosque, then head back to Benamahoma and the bar at the end opens about 11:30am.

Such a beautiful hike! I loved the area and the positive vibes I felt after leaving. Be sure to pack a few snacks if you are a foodie like me! Stay hydrated, if you do the entire trail it can take up to 2 hours.

Gorgeous walk, mostly shady, alongside the most crystal clear little River. While you're not allowed to set up and stay at any of the plentiful bathing spots, it's ok to take a quick refreshing dip to cool down in the icy cold water!

Nice walk along trout stream in the mountains between Benahoma and El Bosque. Best to not walk on weekends as it can be crowded. Weekdays are fine. 1-1/4 hours each way. Parking area next to trail head in Benahoma. In summer best to be off trail by noon due to heat although much of the trail is shaded by trees.

It starts at "El Bosque" and ends in Benamahoma, which are beautiful town to visit or take a break after the walk.
Recently they have added a shortcut to reduce the length of the hike from 10 km (back and forth) to 6km by going to the local botanical garden. This shortcut is a great hike for kids if they are tired, but it skips the best part of the full hike to Benamahoma. Though you can pass by there in the walk back to "El Bosque".

Nice and easy walk, very refreshing with a lot of shade. We were told that it can be very busy during the Weekends, so we went on Thursday and we didn't see many people there.

Lovely trail through the valley along the stream. However, stay focused where you walk as the trail is narrow at some places.
