Hotel Isla Canela

Lovely place, friendly staff, delicious food. The kids club is fantastic place for your little ones. Different activities every day, so parents can relax without kids. A big thank you to Mimi and Elena who made Gaby’ s last days extra special 🎁 also mini disco every night and then live music shows for adults. Highly recommend.

Fantastic place to getaway for a holiday, unspoilt, no English bars,nice to mix with different nationalities, think it might be getting a refurbishment, saw couple of fellas walking around with draughtsman drawings,which would be a bonus even if its just a minor one.
One complaint, smoking areas should be monitored, people ignoring the rules.

Lovely hotel, nice and quiet area and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Only thing is we would have preferred a double bed than two singles pushed together, but overall a great stay. Thank you!

A group of 60 had a week's holiday at this hotel.
We all enjoyed the stay thoroughly.

The hotel is located just 100 m from the beach and has direct access. I've been in a priority location room that has sea view and is very spacious. The pool is huge and there's a lot of animation for children and adults. The food is very diversified and very tasty.

We stayed from the 16th August for 2 weeks, All Inclusive basis, we have stayed here many times before and just love it. We call it our 2nd home!!

Myself my daughter and parents can't wait to book again for next year.

The hotel itself is very clean, food is amazing with plenty to choose from, not only do you have breakfast lunch and dinner on offer but also snacks around the bar area during the day which may include fruit, smoothies, cakes, sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, chips, salad etc they even have Heinz ketchup etc to put on the burgers/hot dogs.

You can also ask at the bar for chippies (crisps) and peanuts (mixed nuts).

All the staff are very friendly from management through to the cleaners even the guy that cleans the pool in the mornings,.
Some don't speak much English but are still very friendly and helpful.

There's a range of activities during the day for children and adults with no pressure to join in the fun, things like archery, bingo, yoga, aqua aerobics, arrows (darts) plus much more, once a week there was a pool party where there are inflatable slides etc in the pool and even a foam party once a week which the kids loved.

The kids clubs are really good again with a range of activities for them, they even include them in some of the evening shows put on by the entertainments team (Animation Team).

The Animation Team are always fantastic, they work really hard to entertain everyone during the day as well as the evening.

This year they had 2 new shows, Aladdin (of course in Spanish though) and The Greatest Show, as well as their old shows such as The Lion King (again in Spanish) and around the world.

Other evening entertainment included live singers, a magic show, Flamenco and Belly Dancing.

The Hotel is situated in a quiet area and just a 2 minute walk to the beach which is beautiful and quiet. The harbor is roughly a 15 minute walk away with a few bars a supermarket and a couple of shops.
There is also the mini train that drives from one end to the other if you don't fancy walking, which is quite fun for the kids, (music playing on board)

The rooms are bright spacious and if you have a sea view what a brilliant view it is.

The hotel also has an indoor pool, gym and spa as well as quiet areas to sit if you want to get away from it all.

If you want a family friendly hotel then this is the place for you, it's mainly Spanish that stay here so it must be good if the locals go!!

Beautiful place to stay. Very clean and tidy. Staff and friendly. Plenty of food and drink options. Decent size pool. Live entertainment. Gift shop on site. Spa on site. Indoor heated pool. All inclusive available. Wide range of desserts. Close to the beach. Food available throughout the day. Lots of activities for small children and pool activities for older children.

Very nice hotel, pictures don't do it justice. Staff are friendly. Check in was quick and efficient. We were even given a free glass of champagne each and a meal despite our late arrival. Because we arrived late we had an extra day of all inclusive at the end of our trip.
The rooms are modern, comfortable and spacious. Cleaning was very good, air conditioning was great. The hotel grounds were well kept and the long sandy beach was just a short walk down a boardwalk.
The area is full of nature as the hotel is located close to wetlands. Most staff spoke English though many were not particularly fluent. The hotel caters for a variety of nationalities, mainly Spanish with a mixture of all Europeans and a handful of Brits. WiFi was fast and provided a stable connection throughout the hotel grounds including outdoor areas. All inclusive included quite a lot of drinks. Cocktails were ok but nothing particularly special. Food was good but a little repetitive. Lots of seafood.
Our only negative of this hotel is the local attractions. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere served by a bus route and a ferry. There is a very small quaint village upon a harbour within walking distance. It has a few bars and shops, one of which is an English sports bar. There are some activities in the local area such as a fishing trip and Jet Ski hire. The boat trip goes to Isla Cristina. I would under no circumstances recommend anyone visits Isla Cristina, the area where the boat docks is like a slum, did not feel safe at all. We left after 20 minutes. Ayamonte was ok but a little run down. Not much to do but if you do go I recommend the restaurant at LPA Bar.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel but would not recommend visiting if you like to get out and about to do things other than drink at a nearby sports bar as there is nothing else to see or do nearby.

My wife and I returned to this hotel in Isla Canela for the second time and we had a wonderful relaxing holiday and we will return again next year as it's the best holiday we have ever had. The staff are fantastic from start to finish. The food is mindblowing in the variety and quality of food theres always lots of fresh fruit and vegetables available to those being careful what there eating.
The beds are very comfortable, I sleep on a vi spring mattress at home and the beds here are comparible. Are plane was late into Faro and we were getting peckish and low and behold they had food all laid on for us. Thankyou. On departure we had access to a shower and changing room which would benefit from a lock from the inside. The shower cubicle had body wash ready to use. There is a luggage room with a very friendly Spanish gentleman who is very helpful in taking care of the luggage and us in a caring way knowing we're a bit in limbo having left our room at 12 midday.
The star crew including Antonio etc al well, I don't know where they get there energy from they work so hard to keep everybody entertained adults and children alike. This year I joined in with the aqua aerobics which was brill. A popular slot for all the hotel guests. Thanks for the instruction you know who you are.
Thanks again to all the staff at this hotel. Carol and I will see you again next year. We shall be re booking as soon as we receive our £50 off our next holiday voucher through the post.

Perfect for families. We love this place, everything from the daytime entertainment, rooms, food and facilities are excellent. Every single member of staff are friendly and wonderfully helpful. 4 star going into 5 star x

Iberostar never disappoints. This is the second stay at an iberostar, first at this location. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and the food is made with quality and possibly with love. Family travel with young kids won't be disappointed.

Fantastic location, great food, such a nice staff! That was one of the best holidays I had. WiFi works prerfectly even on the beach sometimes ;) Pool area is comfy, as well as rooms.

Iberostar has an amazing entertainment team with very busy calendars of activities. All instructors are very charismatic and attentive like Pelayo and Mercedes.

Simply perfect year after year. Cozy and elegant ambience, friendly staff, great buffet food, excellent location near the beach, quiet and well cared details.

I know it's a 4 🌟 hotel but clearly goes for a 5 star. Excelent rooms, very nice public areas, great pool, very good kids entertainment and an amazing restaurant. So much variety and quality. It was really surprising!

Great quality no complaints! Very relaxing place to spend a few days.
