Hotel Rural Papasol

Out of the 50 nights on the Camino this was one of my favorites! It is a spotless farmhouse, the food was home made and fantastic! The part that makes it my favorite was the woman that worked there or owned it, she was so kind, helped with my reservation to visit the museum and was very accommodating to my diet. Given we used google to translate to communicate my stay was a heart warming memory.

This is a lovely, cosy, small hotel around 5-10 mins from the main road to Vitoria and a great place to stay for a night or longer to enjoy the countryside. Comfortable rooms, easy parking, good shower, very reasonable prices and very welcoming to our dog. We had the 6eu breakfast which was excellent local ham and cheese, bread, fruit and coffee and good value for a simple breakfast - very friendly owner - highly recommended!

This is a simple hotel doing simple very well. Good value for money, good food.

Family-run rural hotel, built within a 19th century estate house. Friendly husband and wife duo who make sure their rooms are clean, their guests are well fed and peregrinos ready to get on their way to Burgos. Highly recommend the hike to Atapuerca and visit Papasol.

Walking the Camino, we didn't have a place to stay for the night and the owners figured out a way to make a room for us! The room was amazing and the food was wonderful!! We felt that everything was truly done with love. The owners were truly our Camino angels; lovely people who made our stay restful and peaceful! We will never forget the selfless hospitality we found here. A true hidden gem along the Camino!

This place made our Camino special. This woman running the place was by herself servicing 40 people for dinner and checking us in late at night with such a lovely smile and energy. She has two adorable sheep dogs. One us retired from being an actual shepherd dog. The food was good and the wine great. It was her kindness that was such a stand out. She saw me sitting with my feet up and took a moment as she was racing around to give me a sympathetic pat on the back. She sat down for afew moments with us at the end of dinner. She just took over the hotel in March of this year. It had been closed due to COVID-19. Sometimes her daughter helps her but because of the uncertainty with covid she is not sure if she can hire someone. This place was super clean. Super cute. Got the best feeling from it. Really a standout. She treats you like a friend rather than someone visit a hotel and she said as we were leaving , people are more important than money. So true. Limited English knowledge. Try to speak Spanish to her

Philippe & Maria are welcoming and kind, the food was fabulous and the atmosphere in the Papasol was gentle and calm. Lovely dogs too. Can't recommend highly enough

A perfect Camino experience. Rural Spain at its best. Rustic and quaint, steps from the town church. Owners Felipe and Maria were gracious and kind. Homemade dinner made with vegetables and herbs straight from the family garden. Tarta de queso made in a wood-fired outdoor oven. Best food we’ve had to date on the Camino. We were treated like family.

Small but wonderful rural hotel on the Camino route. Felt like a family home - friendly bar area, small garden you could sit out front at. The woman at the check in desk was very accommodating when it turned out they only had a room with one bed left for me and my
Dad - she gave me a separate spare room on the third floor no extra charge. Thank you for a great stay.

Great and cute hotel. Really friendly staff. Room was cleaner than clean. I love that. Welcome was really great. It's also a restaurant and the food is home cooked and lovely! Defenitely stay here when you are walking the camino. Thank you Maria -Joseph for a great stay

We had a great a stay here, the hostess was wonderful and welcoming and the dinner we had was exceptional - the best meal we have had along the Camino so far (particularly the chicken)
