Hotel Las Truchas

Wonderful stay, service was friendly and attentive. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast delicious with freshly baked breads .,espresso coffee made just right for you. Super close to the Monasterio de Piedra. I’d recommend it.

Amazing food!!! We had their €16 Menu which included an Appetizer, Entre, Dessert, Bread and even a drink. I really enjoyed their mixed salad, soup Gazpacho and their Flan!!! Definitely Recommended!!!

I highly recommend Hotel Las Truchas if you are looking for a relaxing country getaway in Spain. Hotel Las Truchas, and proprietors Tito and Carmeline, were absolutely the best stay we had in Spain and the NICEST people! I came across their hotel on AirBnB and missed my opportunity to leave a review on AirBnB - totally my fault - so I hope others will see this and know what a great experience we had. We booked through AirBnB; our host, Carmeline, was very responsive and great to message with. My friends who are fluent in Spanish were unable to accompany me on this trip due to COVID so I was very impressed with everyone's willingness to tackle the language barrier - not just at Hotel Las Truchas but through all of our Spain trip! Carmeline was modest about her English, but I had no problems understanding her in texts. (Plus, I'm an American in Spain - it's my responsibility to speak THEIR language, lol.). Talking was fine too - 95% their English to 5% my terrible Spanish. Carmeline is also fluent in French, so that's an option for foreign travelers as well.
The room was clean and comfortable. The water was HOT (THANK YOU - the previous hotel we stayed at had horrible lukewarm showers!) The rooms were kept at a nice temperature and they included extra blankets and an additional space heater if you wanted to be warmer at night. There were also multiple options for common areas to relax or gather in. We had breakfast there everyday and dinner there a few times also. The food was great (Tito’s croquetas de jamon were MUCH better than others we tried – gloriously crisp on the outside and so flavorful inside!) and we also had a lovely toast with light tomato spread and Iberian Ham carved tableside every day. (I believe it was called Pan con Tomate Jamon or something close!) Our last day we enjoyed Rabo de Toro (ox tail) and it was like the juiciest, most tender and flavorful pot roast you’ve ever had.
The hotel has fantastic country charm and I loved the décor and how comfortable everything was. After spending the first half of our trip in Valladolid, it was such a welcome change of pace to relax in the country. The Monasterio de Piedra was within easy walkling distance (or they have free parking at the monastery) and was beautiful to see one of our days (all of the pictures of waterfalls are from the Monastery Park). Nuevalos is a cute town and the view of the reservoir (Embalse de la Tranquera) was breathtaking on the drive in. We visited in December so the pool, outside bar, tennis courts, etc. were closed but I’m sure things are much busier in the summer months. We prefer the quiet so it was better that we came off-season but I’m sure it’s gorgeous when everything is blooming and there’s a lot for families to do.
All in all, you could not ask for nicer people than we found at Las Truchas. Add to that the beautiful local scenery and delicious food and it accounted for Las Truchas being the best part of our trip to Spain. If you’re looking for the city, shopping, and nightlife, this may not be the place for you – but, if, like us, you’re looking for nice people, beautiful countryside, relaxing, and fresh air then definitely book a stay at Las Truchas <3 !

Excellent menu del dia on the terrace including great local wine, followed by a siesta by the pool and quick swim.

Ideally located if visiting the amazing waterfall park of the Monasterio de Piedra.

Fuimos a comer entre semana y todo un acierto. El restaurante está en un entorno espectacular y una vez dentro, aunque si que es un poco anticuado es muy acogedor.
Comimos el menú del día y la verdad es que fue espectacular, muchas opciones a elegir y todo casero. Y el precio muy competitivo.
Sinceramente una parada obligatoria si se pasa por la zona.

Los caracoles a la brasa están buenísimos.
La paletilla al horno es la especialidad de la casa y está cojonuda.
Los dueños Tito y Oscar un encanto.
Los camareros Hamilton y sus compañeros son muy majos y atentos.
Es un sitio espectacular con piscina en verano .

Supongo que nos tocó la habitación que todavía no estaba rehabilitada como la de las fotos pero aún así todo muy bien. Restaurante con comida muy buena. Servicio muy bueno.
Hotel muy acogedor y calentito para las fechas que estuvimos.
La ubicación está a 1 km del monasterio de piedra y a 1 km del pueblo. Tienes que coger el coche para todo. Pero para cualquier cosa tienes que coger el coche en general.

No puedo valorar el hotel porque no he dormido allí.pero si valorar el restaurante
Si hubiera echo caso algunas reseñas,hubiera pasado de largo,me alegro de no hacerlo.
Si vas al monasterio de piedra esta bien ubicado y se puede aparcar,el menú es mejor que del monasterio,lo digo para aquello que van a visitarlo y se quedan allí,es un menú variado y de buena calidad,las patatas fritas no son congeladas,en otros menús si lo son,me quede llena también importante y me repito me gusto,comida casera.
Lo recomiendo.Y el servicio muy atento y amables.

Fuimos a comer tras pasar la mañana en el monasterio de piedra.
La verdad que tienen detalles como poner pan con tomate, aceite y ajito y unas olivas. Las raciones abundantes. Menu sabado medio dia 22,50€. Nosotros pedimos migas, carrilleras y codillo. Todo estaba muy rico la verdad. Y de postre, casero, un arroz con leche y crema catalana. De 10. Lo recomendamos. Servicio correcto.

Lugar ideal para parar después de visitar el monasterio de piedra (situado a 2 km). Carta variada para comer y cenar con productos hechos a la brasa muy ricos. Calidad /precio adecuados. Habitaciones cómodas. Personal del hotel muy atento y agradable.

Y lo mejor de todo, el personal. Te hacen sentir como en tu propia casa. Yo entablé relación con unos tal Víctor y Paco, e hicieron de mi estancia unas vacaciones inolvidables. Me recomendaron los mejores sitios para visitar, me trataron como a un rey. Cuando tenían algún ratito libre me contaban detalles interesantísimos de los alrededores de Nuévalos y zonas de alrededor.

Lo recomiendo sin ninguna duda para los turistas que vengan al monasterio de piedra o alrededores.

Paramos de vuelta del monasterio de piedra para comer y nos dejaron pasar con los perros sin problema. El menú está bastante bien y el trato ha sido muy bueno. Recomendable sin duda.

Se come de maravilla. Venía en recomendación de un conocido, si hubiésemos hecho caso a las reseñas nos hubiéramos perdido estos espectaculares platos. El personal muy agradable.

Hemos dormido aquí, para visitar el monasterio de piedra. Un trato muy cercano, familiar y amabilidad.
Comimos, cenamos y desayunamos, toda la comida buenísima, se nota que es casera muy bien elaborada....

Fuimos a comer un sábado el menú y la verdad que para repetir. El lugar es acogedor, cómodo, espacioso, tranquilo... Y además la atención es excelente. Muy buen trato y la comida riquísima. Muy recomendable.
