La Botica

Matapozuelos ain't the kind of village where you'd expect a gem like this. From Valladolid it's a 35min drive to get there and if you're a tourist there's little that would lead you this way. But La Botica in itself is absolutely worth the trip. We got a very friendly welcome and could arrange a vegetarian variation of their menu on request, despite the language barrier. It proved to be just as exquisite as the normal menu, a delicate , refined blend of seasonal and regional cuisine.
I will post some pictures of what i had. There's blackpudding on one of them, but you might not guess on which one.
Guide Michelin was right to grant them a star, the one guy who wrote a review saying "mostly appearances" definitely was not.

We came here in May 2022 and had a marvellous lunch over the course of 3 or so hours. This place is such a hidden gem, located in a beautiful building in a small wine town. The food is very local, and they could tell us to the kilometre where their ingredients came from (usually under 10km!) We sat in front of their courtyard garden where we could see the chef collecting ingredients. One dish came with freshly grated green pinecone which added the perfect fresh taste to the meal. Will return.

What a phenomenal restaurant! had an incredible dining experience! it was so incredible to see local products being used in such innovative ways..... mind-blowing. Well worth the detour....you should definitely go out of your way to eat there. make sure to call ahead and make a reservation as the restaurant does get full. The staff is very friendly and very accommodating and the sommelier made great wine recommendations. The chef and cooks have an incredible talent to create such delicious memorable cuisine. Vista La Botica....you will not regret it!

What chef Miguel Ángel is doing with local produce is absolutely incredible. You’ll be blown away at how he keeps the ingredients wholesome and yet inventive. The flavors are full of depth and creativity. If you’re in Valladolid you must come to La Botica, one of the best restaurants in Spain!

Everything was perfect. From the appetizers to d”the desert. We ordered the lechazo asado and exceeded a lot my expectations. It’s simply an amazing dish.

One of those places that blows your mind and you always want to come back to see what´s new tis time. A humble talented chef able to extraxt the best from each single product. He keeps growing and enhancing every single dish to perfection. If you want to have a truly honst culinary experiences this place is a must!

I found La Botica on a list of places to eat near the A-6 and was not disappointed by the recommendation. The food was delicious and in some cases served in creative and unexpected ways. However, what I especially enjoyed about the experience was the service. Victor and the other waiters who served my table were attentive and friendly and took time to explain each plate, even including the two local breads we were served to accompany an appetizer and the coffee we ordered to conclude the meal. The kind of attention to detail I experienced at La Botica is hard to come by, especially outside of Spain's biggest cities. All of these things made my meal stand out from others I've had in Spain. Highly recommend!

This restaurant gave to me impressive experience. Wonderful service, good balance, beautiful plating, harmony of ingredients. All of things are special experience. Thank you to the chef who gave me this opportunity. I am curious about the summer of the restaurant.

What a beautiful experience! If you want to be treated for a culinary journey of local ingredients and dishes with a twist which are traditional to Spain, do visit La Botica de Matapozuelos. It is worth the journey from Madrid and Valladolid! Seasonal menu changes and of course wonderful use of the pine cones.

Service was seamless with the servers moving graciously around the floor as if it was a performance!

I've heard and briefly met Miguel Angel de la Cruz since 2014. But after meeting him and seeing how down to earth he is. I am soo glad I was lucky enough to eat there and get a last minute reservation.

Hemos ido a comer un menú de gustación que cogimos de promoción.
Comida muy bien. Con algún trampatojo como las crestas de gallo y un cafe-morcilla.
Todos las elaboraciones exquisitas y con productos de la zona, vino incluido.
Para rematar pedi un café y era de Uganda que iba acompañado de un bombón que quitaba el hipo....
Comida de 10. Seguir así chicos.

Comida de camino a Valladolid en este sorprendente restaurante. Tomamos un menú degustación muy cuidado y magníficamente atendido. Un lujo para todos los sentidos. Una elaboración muy esmerada manteniendo la esencia de la comida castellana en simbiosis con la naturaleza de la zona.

Aprovechando una oferta de OFERPLAN que proponía un menú de degustación en este establecimiento con vino y café incluidos al precio de 50€ por persona, nos presentamos en La Botica a cenar mi pareja y yo.

El local es simple pero correcto. Con espacio y tranquilidad.
El menú fue vistoso y bien presentado, muy basado en las verduras de la zona y con presencia del lechazo famoso en Valladolid. Si bien no destaco ningún plato como excepcional, la media fue muy correcta, con algún plato como por encima como ese bloque de lechazo asado con trufa.
El vino quizás es la parte que se quedó atrás, con un vino de la D.O. Castilla y León bastante flojito.
El trato bueno y la cadencia de platos y ambiente muy correctos. Recomendable a ese precio.

Un auténtico lujo.
Menú de degustación de productos locales muy original, perfectamente calibrado y con platos muy sorprendentes...en especial nos gustó muchísimo la trucha, la ciruela y los higos..la molleja y el festival de quesos...
Y todo ello acompañado de un festival d verdejos muy bien maridado y con un somelier y un maitre encantadores.

Sterneküche vom Feinsten!!! Trotz wenig Spanisch-Kenntnissen und als Vegetarier, dank kompetenter Bedienung und einer hervorragenden Küche möglich!!! Sehr kreativ wurde mir - passend zum regulären Menu meines Mannes- ein wunderbares 9 Gänge- Menü mit saisonalen und regionalen Speisen gezaubert. Ein absoluter Genuss!!!!

Reservamos para comer lechazo y nos ha encantado. El servicio ha sido impecable, con atención en todo momento pero sin agobiar al comensal. La comida exquisita, cada plato único. Limpieza inmejorable tanto en el comedor como en la entrada o en los sanitarios.
Muy contentos con la experiencia, volveremos!

Se nota la estrella michelin tanto en la
