This place is a must, if you are looking for an authentic Egyptian meal. The owner picked out a set of amazing dishes for us. He was very friendly and nice. The experience was great and the food was delicious! Go try it !

One of the best places we ate in Egypt - everything is cooked so fresh. Great falafel, fresh lemon juice and salad. Everything was perfect.

My girlfriend and me visited this restaurant a few weeks ago and were completely amazed. After the first visit we were so happy with the German dishes that we decided to come back the next day and try the Egyptian ones. As a German and someone who lived for half a year in Egypt I can say that as well the German meals as the Egyptian ones were exceptional. Everything is freshly and hand-made with lots of love. Talk to the owner what he would suggest you and have a little chat, he is a very nice person.

The food is simply amazing: perfectly seasoned and super fresh. You can find on the menu both Egyptian and, to our surprise, German dishes. But most importantly, the staff is extremely polite and attentive. We enjoyed chit chatting with the owner.

We ordered takeaway here after getting extremely annoyed at other places for cheating foreigners. The food was outstanding, staff amazingly polite, place was clean and quiet. only shame was it run out of lamb(we might come again tomorrow to try our luck ), but the beef and liver were amazing though. Thank you for a great meal.

Oh my. After 10 days in Luxor and a lot of beef disappointments I tried the fillet steak at Gerda's Garden. I also ordered a GG special pizza in anticipation of another disaster. The meat was SO GOOD I thought I had died and gone to heaven. You MUST try this dish with the pepper sauce. And the pizza was excellent as well. The price is ridiculously cheap for such quality. This is my favorite restaurant in Luxor. Delicious food. Very kind people working here. The owner speaks fluent English, German and Arabic. The prices are amazing especially considering every dish is made as you order and from scratch. Not pre-prepared - always fresh! Great variety of food: Authentic Egyptian dishes are my favorites, but Wael makes fantastic German cuisine as well. I highly recommend his German style Liver and Onions - so tender and delicious. I love this place. You will also.

Comfy and family oriented restaurant.

Koawr3 with vine leaves is a must to try.

this food is special! We ordered a vegetarian dish and the seasoning was very good! The atmosphere is pleasant and decorated with books. The owner of the restaurant is a very attentive and intelligent person. thanks

We are writing this review while sitting at the restaurant . Lovely owners and environment. Our kids are being entertained by games . So homely and friendly . Love the atmosphere. A very clean place with a lovely decor . Such a personalised service. They will serve you only very freshly cooked food . We were also given WiFi access . We ordered a grilled chicken , chicken tawook and a dish recommended by the owner ( tajin) . The food was mouthwatering and the prices were really reasonable. The serving were very generous.Wish we would have found this restaurant earlier as it was right opposite our hotel ( Hilton Luxor).

Gerda was so kind and the food was incredible.
He is passionate about food and shared a lovely meal with us. The prices are great and the ambiance even better! We were so comfortable there!

Very friendly restaurant where the owner and chef sits in a chair from which he can overview tables and kitchen at once. German food because he used to live there and Luxor didn't have that option but also great Egyptian tagine and chicken. Definitely come.

Very nice restaurant, food is as good as Sopra, but cheaper and in a very welcoming, family atmosphere. The owner is very nice, he took our order personally and advice us for the "fresh of the day" meal which was excellent! Follow his advice :)

Amazing food and service, probably my best meal in Egypt so far.

Be aware that the restaurant changed location recently. It’s not near Karnak anymore but at Ali Ibn Abi Taleb, Gazirat Al Awameyah, Luxor, Luxor Governorate
