El Mesala Hotel

We had a very good time here in El Mesala Hotel. Ths staff is welcoming and eager to help and assist you. Also the location is perfect, just in front of the Nile. Our room had the river view and it was big enough and clean, but a little old in forniture and stuff. I recommend to eat at the restaurant because their cuisine is simple but tasty. (Dinner for two costs 20 euros)

Best hotel in Luxor! Mohamed and his staff were amazing. They helped arrange for incredible tours around the Valley of the Kings. Later, Mohamed arranged for a sail boat on the Nile River to see the sunset. Hotel has the best location, with an incredible balcony view of the Nile River. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. I highly recommend for anyone traveling to Luxor.

Great hotel! A list of pros and cons:

Pros:
- great location on the west bank, near cute restaurants
- the loveliest staff, were able to help us with everything
- amazing views from the restaurant
- close to the ferry
- rooms are quite big, with balcony

Cons:
- takes quite some time to get here by car
- for the light sleepers: noise from the street and mosque are heard very easily

Hotel's location is perfect. There are boats in front of Luxor Temple in the Eastbank and the best way to access to the hotel is these boats for 50 EGP and it is 5 minutes. If you take a taxi or Careem there is a quite long way. I never took a taxi in Egypt but I could never payed Careem the amount in the app, drivers always bargained and accepted at least the double price on the app.

If you will stay in Luxor, El Mesala is the place to be!

The restaurant is on the roof terrace and you can view the Nile and Luxor Temple from there. The food was very good and the staff friendly. Prices were good. We were the only guests but still they cooked for us. Don't be afraid if you are the only guest. (When we were in Egypt, we were often the only guests.)

Rooms and building kept clean, like saw staff everyday mopping floors, wiping down railings and maintaining the pool. Roof top restaurant was wonderful and affordable. Great service and delicious. We had a balcony view of the Nile. And right beside is a little store, the second one in family owned. Wonderful people and their daughter is so kind and played with our daughter. They even invited to sit and have tea in the evenings. Khalid and Mona are the parents. Khalids English is impeccable and he was so helpful. Great place for water and little treats for the kids. Their daughter Fatima sells great quality headscarves and a killer price (only 50 EGP) we bought 10. Use a driver service from anywhere you want to go from here, as you are constantly approached by local taxis and they are a nightmare. We used Hassans Transport Service, clean cars and completely safe and trustworthy. We used his cars for 3 days and at times needed to leave our purchased goods in the cars, we did this in complete security. His number is +201062923551 tell him Stephen from Canada sent you ;-)

The stay was amazing, we enjoyed every bit of it. Good was amazing and service also.

Hamada was excellent on the transport part of it and his tips for a good stay in Luxor were essential for us.

El Mesala was a very pleasant addition to our Egypt vacation. The staff were our favourite part to the experience, as they were so courteous and generous to us during our entire stay. We loved the breakfast in the morning, the pool, and our little balcony in our suite. We booked a Felucca sunset tour + dinner and it was our favourite detail of our entire trip. Both managers were so kind and treated us like family. They even helped us deal with a scammy taxi driver and we are so grateful for it. This hotel is a family run business, and we got to meet many of the family members, which just added to the pleasant experience overall. Would recommend, especially for the team.

Great place, unbeatable views and the staff are extremely kind and accommodating. A special thanks to my friend Ahmed who made everything so easy for us from organising our tours to making sure that we had everything ee needed.
Their rooftop restaurant is also quite good with very affordable prices and friendly staff.

We had a pleasant experience in this hotel, located on the West bank which is nice because it's not as crowded like the other side. Just a 5 minute ferry ride for only 5EGP. A lovely view of the Nile. Very helpful staff and the restaurant on the roof had the best curry I've had in quite a while. Prices are not expensive.

Osama was excellent with hosting and helping get to what we wanted to see and visit. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. He is young but mature on the way he handles the hotel customers. His brother is good, too. Great breakfast ~ you order the way you want your eggs. Made to your speciality.

Words cannot explain how hungry I was, I go to the restaurant on the roof and our whole family orders food. The food took a while to get out but when it did it was 100% worth the wait. Compliments to the chef because the Shawarma Chicken was out of this world. I was fulfilled again! Hats off to the chef, you outdid yourself on that one mate! I wish I took pictures but I ate it too fast, amazing! Gets a 5/5 for his cooking alone

November 2021 my partner and I have decided to leave for Egypt to discover the land of the faraons.
we stayed 6 nights in the Mesala Hotel and to say it was a fantastic experience is an understatement!
on the roof there is a terrace overlooking the temple of Luxor, very good breakfast è vero morning, very kind and always available staff
and a proprietor who immediately proved to be fantastic by helping us on guided tours and always letting us be accompanied by people he trusts.

return? absolutely and I'm looking forward to it now!

10 out of 10 The best place for the price to stay in Luxor on the unspoilt West Bank.
My stay at the El Mesala could not have been better.The hotel is very clean. It is run by a very nice family from Luxor. It's in a ideal spot on the side of the Nile with the best views of Luxor temple and the Nile and it's near to all the tombs and the temples. You only have a short walk to the local ferry and motor boats. A excellent breakfast and fantastic food is served at lunch and evening. Mohamed and Ahmed the owners can't do enough to help , they can arrange tours and trips to any of the sites and temples hot air balloons and quad bike rides. All at really good prices. There's a lovely pool with sun loungers you can rest and coo off.
I love Luxor and will be back to the El Medals as soon as I can.

The hotel El Mesala is a great place to stay in Luxor. Located directly at the border of the Nile on the Westbank, this is a perfect spot to relax. The location is also very convenient to visit all highlights in Luxor and surroundings. Super friendly and extra flexible and very welcoming staff! A place not to be missed!

Really good hotel, balcony view over the Nile, on the West Bank which is less touristy and more community oriented. Pool big plus after a day in the tombs.

Nice well maintained little pool that is in the shade except in the early morning.

Very nice roof deck for meals.

Wi-Fi strength was medium.

They do not serve alcohol.

Nice staff, good hospitality.

River view rooms have a very nice view, though balconies are in the Sun for most of the day.

Very well located next to the boats and ferry that goes to the east bank.

Good strength air conditioning and rooms have mini fridges.

Good value for money.

Very clean room. Very friendly locals and a lot quieter than the east bank. The east bank is one loud circus with unrelenting scammers and hustlers. Going to the west bank you could easily forget you are in luxor and yet only a 5 minute boat journey.

West bank is perfect if you want a city break, but quiet in the evening. This hotel is perfect for that.
