Great to be here once more at the end of the year 2023. The waterfall is, as always, magnificent; during winter, it is usually surrounded by remarkable frozen water structures. Additionally, if you walk towards the flowing river beside limestone formations, you'll reach the beautiful confluence of two rivers. There's a quite special atmosphere here.-) A large and comfortable car parking area is available on-site (on the left side of the river). Plots for picnics and grilling are also established and popular among visitors, of course, when weather conditions are appropriate.

I went here in February and it’s been always a magical place from my childhood. Unfortunately this time I visited I fell through the ice, luckily no damage happened, but I was very cold and wet!! Nonetheless the pictures and view was amazing, don’t walk across the snow because it’s all ice and you WILL fall through 😭

No need to buy tickets. Pretty cool place. When the ice is thick enough, you can walk behind it. Be careful as it can get slippery.

Not much lights. In the area, so best to visit when there is sunlight. Sunset or sunrise are good times as well.

I admired this place during winter and most of the waterfall were frozen. Incredible. It's really a peaceful place. I reached here from Tallinn, is well connected by bus, 1 hour more or less.

Independent from the time of the year there’s always beautiful to walk around. With long and colder winter it freezes and you’re able to walk behind the wall of water/ice. But you need to be careful because at one point it will start falling apart so know to stay away.

Amazing and magnificent waterfall. We visited the waterfall on March last week and it was beautiful.. You need to be careful when you are visiting with children, as there are no railing. It's a perfect picnic spot. If you want to fully enjoy the beauty of the waterfall, you need to see from the top side and bottom side. The road reaching to the top side is not tarred and narrow.. There is not much parking spots available at the top side.. The other side has amble parking spots..

We booked via TripAdvisor and the company Prangli. Cannot recommend this highly enough.

4 others didn't turn up so it was just the two of us with the guide who was super friendly (l'm sorryl didn't get her name) so we had almost a personal tour and it was so good. We got loads of local history from her on the journey to the waterfall which took 25-30mins, pointing out landmarks and giving us local insight that we would never have got going on our own.

Once there we had loads of photo opportunities and got to walk across the frozen lake and behind the waterfall. It was absolutely stunning, so beautiful. It was just starting to thaw so we probably got there on the last day of it being properly frozen (21st Jan). Whilst we were exploring our host set up a picnic in the snow with all sorts of traditional local snacks which were all really tasty and explained the history of them. So many little stories and facts. We even talked about how languages evolved in surrounding countries! Not to mention we got our first taste of Vana Tallinn (yum) and some home made tea which was also delicious.

It wasn't the cheapest trip at around £70 each but we got so much more from it than we would have done just getting a taxi or hiring a car and Would have spent almost as much. My only regret is that we didn't take any cash with us so we weren't able to givea tip which we absolutely felt she earned. Hopefully people will see this review and go spend their money with her as a substitute for that!

100% recommend. Do it.

Free entrance ! 💓

It's a very interesting spot. Beautiful forest with little waterfall. Very clean and lot of visitors at evening hour. We were enjoying this place so much, and please be careful by not standing too edge on top (near the waterfall) because underneath only have a thin layer, and we don't like to see any accidents happen. 🙂

Overall,
Cheers to our beautiful mother natural.

Nice place to visit with family. There is a fair bit of rubbish lying around. Great place looking for fossils.

One of the three waterfalls in the region. Water is clear and flowing along the river before meeting the beautiful small waterfall. It is in middle of lush forestry surrounding. After the waterfall it continues its way towards the old water plant. You can leave your car or bike on the parking space reserved for the location.

This is a natural gift. Jägala waterfall is the largest natural waterfall in Estonia. The scene is picturesque; the surrounding area is green and peaceful. This place could be ideal for a family picnic.
The waterfall is about +30 min drive from airport, and about 50 min drive from the harbor. There is a convenient parking place right near there. Also when we visited, there is a small truck food, from which you can buy sausages and hot dogs I think!

Worth going if you have the means to get there. From Tallinn it was around a 30 min drive.

You can walk under the fall but extreme caution is advised as you will get very wet from the spray and the rocks are very slippery.

Good photo spot, would recommend.

I was astonished to see such an amazing nature's miracle in such a short distance from the capital city Tallinn. I didn't even expect to see a natural waterfall in Estonia. If you are exploring north of Estonia you must find time to pay a visit to this place.

What an unexpected nature formation not far from capital Talinn. In plain land with no mountains there is nothing really to see and then suddenly waterfalls! And how amazing they are. Wide river has two levels and shallow water is gently falling from above to down part, which visually remind water curtain. Free parking and relaxing quiet surroundings made this place a worth visiting stop on journey to Narva

Wow! What a powerful place!
I went there in winter and spend time there just by myself.

Fresh snow everywhere, natural looking water at the frozen stone wall!

Really enjoyed walking around and I recommend everyone to do the same.

There are two spots where you can have a look to the waterfall and the other parking place on the other side is also a really nice perspective.

30 min by car from Tallinn, toilet boxes around - very peaceful and worth to visit.

Exceptional place! Highly recommended if you plan to visit Tallinn. It takes 25 minutes to reach Jägala from Tallinn old town. We took Bolt that costed 21 EUR. There's also bus. You can go underneath the waterfall, which feels great. Take waterproof jacket as you may get wet when you go closer to the fall.

Really nice waterfall, it's possible to go behind it and to take a swim near it if you want.
