Mistikafe Restaurant - Cafeteria - Bar

This is a small nostalgic hidden spot, I loved the decorations and friendly service, despite the bad review someone gave them...perhaps they fixed the pigeon/hair problem. Food is a solid 3.5, but I gave it a 4. It's tasty and hearthy. Price wise, economical compared to other venues. I only paid $6 dollars for both; my mother and I.
Food: for lunch we had Sopa de Sambo (Sambo it's gourd that looks like a watermelon, locals eat it ripe or baby, when ripe, it's prepared sweet, it looks like angel hair, when it's not ripe, its taste verymuch like a zucchini) It had baby corn, potatoes, served with a side of pop corn. Then we had rice with beef stew, which is also pretty good. The only thing I can complain, it's the salt, it was very salty. Soup was not as salty as the stew. My mom could not finish it.
They will serve you a glass of water, which taste like lemonade, a bit too sweet for me, but refreshing. The Aji (hot sauce) was super delicious!! Loved it. To top the lunch, they gave us some cookies at the end.
I definitely recommend this place, especially if you are the person who enjoys these dining settings.
ENVIRONMENT: inviting, retro, though some of the items do not reflect the area's culture, decoration was very nice, I think they should add some clay pots and some straw hats.
PRICE: very affordable. For everything that was served, I only paid $6 dollars.
SERVICE: it's not the typical waitress/waiter service. But attentive.
