Llullu Llama Mountain Lodge

One of the nicest hostels I have stayed in in all South America! I stayed here on the first night of the Quilotoa loop, and after a day of rain it was exactly what I needed. The beds are really comfortable, the hostel is really clean and well kept and the breakfast and dinner (included in the price) was really really good, very filling and complete and exactly what was needed after and before hiking! Santiago was super helpful as well, very knowledgeable about the area and went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable.
There is also a sauna, games room, yoga room and musical instruments in the hostel, and probably more that I have just forgotten!
Could not recommend enough!

The view from this hostel / hotel is second to none. Truly magnificent. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The yoga sessions run by Jason were fantastic. Can’t recommend highly enough.

The rooms have an amazing view, the beds are comfortable. The dinner and breakfast (included in the stay) was tasty and fresh. And the staff are very friendly.

Touring Ecuador with motorcycle and on the Quilotoa loop I stayed here for one night and was pleasantly surprised. Frankly, I always avoid hostels and prefer hotels BUT Llullu Llama mountain Lodge is such a great place that it’s better than most of the hotels I stayed in Ecuador in my 2 weeks tour. I stayed in a Cottage with the Mountain View and it was absolutely wonderful to wake up to the fantastic scenery. To get to the Lodge we had 1.5 hr of off-road ridding in very scenic area, our only issue was that Google map was not very helpful which added to the adventure 😜👍

One of the best hostels we’ve stayed in South America! Definitely stay here if doing the Quilotoa Loop. We wished we’d stayed longer as it was great place to just chill out after hiking

We loved our stay here - so much that we stayed for an extra night than originally planned. The views & spa are fantastic, the staff very friendly & helpful, food was good, and free yoga classes with Adam were great, too. There’s tons of hikes you can do near the hostel (in addition to the Quilotoa Loop) & the hostel has printed directions for many different options, which we really appreciated. Highly recommend this place!

Top Top 😍 I wanted to stay here longer lol but we had a trek to do. If you are doing the Quilotoa Loop, don't miss your chance to enjoy this beautiful place and beautiful people. Family dinner was EXCELLENT as well! I'm vegan and they had no problem accommodating me. The spa is a must do, especially after a long day of hiking. Huge thank you to the entire Llullu Llama Team ❤

Enjoyed our stay!

Good:
-Friendly helpful service, responsive to email
-Sauna/hot tub room is sweet! In a separate building and our group of six fit in the hot tub just fine.
-Plenty of hearty food. Yummy homemade bread (though the sandwich in the packed lunch was way too bready and didn't have enough filling).
-Great happy hour drink prices.
-Yoga class included!
-Whimsical fun architecture and lots of common areas
-Great views

Bad:
-Farmhouse Rooms and Dorm are noisy at night since their door opens out into common area. There are also creaky floors so you hear people walking to the bathroom. Not too bad if you play white noise on your phone.
-Farmhouse Rooms and Dorm also don't have many hooks or shelves or places to hang wet clothes - basically just a bed and a nightstand.
-Hot tub not as hot as we'd hoped.
-They said it was fine to prepay the whole stay using PayPal but didn't warn me they charge a 5.5% fee for that.

Would definitely stay again!

My boyfriend and I stopped in here for a coffee and take a look around and it was so nice! It felt like a spa resort from the moment you walk in, and they even have a spa! After a long day of hiking it was such a treat!

Wonderful place in the Andes. The hostel is clean and has friendly owners. Perfect place during the Quilotoa loop! Nice food in the evening and a great breakfast as well. Lots of board games and a fireplace. We also enjoyed the yoga session at 7am in the morning! Would 100% recommend!

This hostel was amazing, one of our favourite places we have stayed in Equador. We stayed here for one night whilst hiking the Quilatoa Loop and from the minute we arrived we felt so welcome It was so warm and cosy and felt like home. Free hot water & coffee all day and the homemade meals for breakfast and dinner were delicious! The beds were comfortable and warm and the showers were strong & hot, which is exactly what you need after a long day hiking. The views were beautiful too. We wanted to stay longer but didn't have time, but I couldn't recommend this hostel any more!

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. They offer an amazing dinner and breakfast and free yoga. The views are amazing and the living spaces are so comfortable. Beds were also very comfortable.

This is an exceptional hostel...nicest I have visited. The grounds/views, building, rooms and interior are absolutely beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast, dinner meals are family style and very good.

NOTE: The location needs to be understood. The hostel is located in Isinlivi. The best way to reach the hostel is through Sigchos (our car driver initially followed Google maps which took us down an impossible road). This location is great if used while hiking the Quilatoa Loop. If location is being used to drive to Quilatoa Lake, understand that the drive is ~1.5 hours one way, some of which are on dirt roads going up and down the mountains.

Excellent lodge with outstanding service. They provide dinner and breakfast with the nightly room rate and an available pack lunch for an additional cost. The use of the hot tub ($5) was nice after a long hike. Beds were comfy and blankets plenty warm.

Can't recommend this place highly enough. Worth staying longer if you do the Quilatoa loop trek and have more time. Some people stay an extra night at the next route stop, which I did, but wish I stayed here longer

Amazing experience. Yoga lesson in the afternoon and later sauna with jacuzzi and view on the misty mountains. Highly recommend!

A lovely lodge to arrive at after a day of hiking! The dinner and breakfast included in the price was amazing, and I had a great time hanging out with other people staying here. I had emailed them for a reservation, but my room was given to someone else. The staff worked it out and I was able to stay in a private room- thank you!!! I also appreciated that they offered a nicer room for the same price as what I had reserved- great customer service! Highly recommend this lodge!

Best place I've ever been! It is a really pretty lodge, everything made of wood, with warm lamps, sofas and fires in every common room. You couldn't feel more cozy and at home. The showers are wonderful, really hot! The food is amazing, a 3 course menu (western style) with delicious and unique courses, and so is the breakfast. The dorm room under the roof feels more like a huge pyjama party than a hostel. Service was also at its best, and you can refill water for free and drink tea and coffee all day.
So great that they made possible that backpackers can also enjoy this experience! Thank you so much!!! <3

Really wonderful place along the Quilotoa loop trail! Got there in the midst of a rainstorm and it was so wonderful to get to take a hot shower and make a fire in the sweet little wood stove in our room. I was also blown away that there was a yoga room and a sauna! The food was also delicious and it was so great to have a to go lunch as well. Would have liked to stay another day if we’d had the time!
