If you have time in Aalborg, definitely consider Den Bette Kro for authentic Danish cuisine.
There is a wide selection of Smorrbrod and specials made with local produce, the portions are excellent value for money, and the staff work very hard to accommodate guests with quick and friendly service.

If you want the authentic Danish experience, including atmosphere, friendly and professional service... everything served with a smile... food is tasty and original and fresh.
They've got at least 40 different types of snaps, which they will gladly explain to what dish a certain type of snaps is fit.
I've been there 3 times, and the above has been present at every visit. Much appreciation 💛

Taverna feeling inside and a nice secluded outdoor seating with both shaded and sunny seats. Took the lunch offer with several smaller smørrebrød toppings served on a plate so I could make my own ones with both dark and white bread. Nice waiter, food was delicious and very appetising even from the looks of it. I came by MC and there was not any good parking nearby that I could see so I just parked right outside their wall.

Great little restaurant! Accommodating and helpful staff, cute interior. Great menu options of Danish cuisine, with specialty in smørrebrød. Even paired flavoured schnapps/aqua vit with the different dishes. Fresh, delicious food and well presented.

Very friendly, very tasty, very danish!

Had the normal fried plaice with shrimps and a "shooting star" which is three plaice fillets differently prepared. All come with different types of fish eggs and maybe too much mayonnaise. Very heavy dishes so no sides or starters needed.

Deeelicious and well prepared smørrebrød. Kind service in a traditional cosy interior. This one's a keeper! My new place for smørrebrød in Aalborg. We ordered the Luksus Stjerneskud which was huge and very very filling. Yum!

Smørrebrød were Delicious and pretty big. one was plenty for each of us.

Impressive Danish food with friendly services.

Really nice place. We went on a Thursday and hadn't booked, but they managed to make room for us despite being fully booked. The food was lovely and you get a lot of it - would definitely recommend.

Amazing experience! Classical Danish food - the best version of it. The flavors are tip top and the service super. When we came in I was tired and grumpy because I tried to find something else then bread (in Denmark - haha!) and the waitress just changed my bread into potatoes and that was just what I needed. And it's really really cozy as well 😃

Very elegant danish restaurant. The herring was delicious and a very enjoyable experience to eat.

Never experienced getting "Mom's quality cooking" at a restaurant, but the food here was amazing. Great service, and great atmosphere.

Danish "hygge" at its best. Cozy inn with traditional Danish dishes with a modern twist. Can definitely be recommended for a nice lunch with a good friend.

We went there for dinner and to taste the typical danish open sandwiches. We sat on their little garden outside and the atmosphere was really pleasant. Our sandwiches were great, in particolar the tatar Classic. Great flavors combined and abundant portions. Very nice service.

I had ordered the Øko æg og håndpillede søkogte rejer and Roastbeef “I nye klæder” paired with the classic Danish Snaps.
From a perfect big portion sizes to the warm candle light atmosphere, the very friendly and polite waitress it couldn't have been a better setting to be in. The location and setting may not be idle for someone who wishes to dine in the open air styled set up but would be perfect for someone who is looking for a nice and quite place to enjoy classic Danish cuisine.
