Museet Ribes Vikinger

This is a lot larger than I thought it would be, they have a lot of artifacts. The staff was friendly and super nice!

Delighted to experience the ancient history of my heritage.
Ribe Vikings did an extremely nice exhibit to wander through & enjoy with my wife.
The years went by from old age to recent years so it was an update through the centuries of life in this old region.
We both had a great time here...
The shop was extremely well equipped so we spent almost $300,- US dollars in Viking style equipment & handywork..
Well done Ribe.. Last but not least - the children's area was also quite impressive for kids to learn the deal of hardship in the old times.. Thumbs up & definitely worth the time..

Visiting from North Carolina, USA with 4 kiddos (12,9, 7, 4). We loved this museum, it is small but packed with artifacts! There is English on the signs and although not alot it makes for a good pace to go through the museum when you have kids with you. The young man working out the service desk was friendly, helpful and spoke perfect English. The gift shop is affordable and there is also a cafe. The kids area of the museum is great for little imaginations, and kids are free! Great value, good place to see history!

Small museum with nice and educational expositions related to the foundation of Ribe and its expansion and transformation during and shortly after the medieval period.

A wonderful museum for children and adults.
Costumes to wear and an atmospheric place to play.
Arange words with runes and many more. But the best memory is a very helpful cashier from Poland.

Very informativ and nicely structure museum. We enjoyed our stay here and learned quite a lot about the past of Ribe. The only „negative“ aspect was that the more detailed information on the descriptions were in Danish. But I do not consider this as a downgrade. Very friendly Personal that was able to speak in German with us.

Take your time here! There is a wealth of information which puts the town's development into context, absolutely fascinating. It is quite fitting that Ribe has such a museum to tell its story . . . .

Nice museum that explores Vikings or more correctly the settlers in Ribe, who were traders, tradesmen and farmers. €9 entry fee. There is an area for children, bathrooms, shop, cafe and parking. A short walk from the centre of town

In this museum you experience Ribe's history between the years 700 - 1700. Highly recommended when you visit Ribe.

For such a small museum, there is so much information there that you can easily spend 2 hours there. The recreation of past Ribe was great too. My only complaint is that the special exhibition was only in Danish. Great museum and a must-visit when in Ribe.

Very nice museum with a nice concept. Start in the viking ages and work your way through time up to the medieval age. Take your time looking at everything cause there is a lot to see. Entry prices are great and the gift shop has quite a few interesting things you may not be able to easily find somewhere else.
All in all a very good museum.

Excellent museum with rare artifacts I've only seen in history. The children's areas are amazing with costumes and lots of viking toys. The gift shop is also full of unique gifts.

Great place to learn about Rube's viking history. Plan on spending about 90 minutes hear if you watch the video or 60 minutes otherwise. Video is available in Danish, English and I think German.

every time I go to this museum I always find something new to learn, it is fascinating to learn about the Vikings, routes, customs. how advanced they were for their time. I'm lovin 'it
