RAF Museum, Laarbruch

It is great to have a place like this museum for remembering the local history. It is not easy to maintain those facility and collections by a priviate association. They did great job and I really feel the warm welcome for my visiting.

A really superb archive of RAF Laarbruch and the wider RAF Germany. All put together by volunteers, which makes it all the more impressive. Well worth a visit.

Nice small museum to tell the history of the RAF period and the German period before it closed and later became a commercial field.
Nice exhibition, very friendly staff. It's not large, it can even be combined while flying from and to a holiday destination.

Stationed here 1977-80. A great posting. Weeze was great and miss the Jaga snitzels and Mama's chicken. I used to do 3 countries on my 4days off. Would love to visit museum...

It tells the complete history of this RAF base during the Cold War.
The personel is very kind and has a lot of knolage and show interest in the visitor.

Visited Weeze Airport on Wednesday just to see what had happened over the years. The hanger I worked in is now the main terminal building. We saw the museum on the way out and decided to visit, well worth €3 to see the collection of items and the history of the base. Thanks to the curator for making us feel so welcome, I would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area. I served here from 1987-1992 in MCF.

Traveling nearby and can’t stop - but OMG the memories! Dad was stationed here 1974-76 working on the Buccaneer Flight Simulators! We lived off-base in Weeze! Very fond memories as a child living in Germany.
Actually on way to Dusseldorf to bring boats back from the Boat Show!

Das Museum in Weeze/Laarbruch widmet sich der Gescichte des dort stationierten Geschwader der Royal Ait Force. Es gibt einen sehr interssanten Abriss der Geschchite und Einsätze. Es sind ein zwar nur wenige FLugzeuge zu sehen. Es wird aber aufgrund des begranzten Platzes mit Fotos und Dioramen gearbeitet, was die Austellung trotzdem sehr plastisch macht.

Ein sehr interessantes Museum, das von ehrenamtlichen vorbildlich geführt wird. Die Geschichte des Standortes wird anhand vieler Geschichten und Geschichtchen sehr anschaulich gezeigt. Achtung: Auf der Internetseite wird genau der Weg zum kostenlosen parken erklärt.

Kleiner maar zeer interessant museum over de Britse troepen die daar waren gestationeerd tot eind jaren negentig.

Sehr interessantes Museum zum kleinen Preis! Am Anfang wirkt es Recht klein aber das täuscht. Jeder der sich ein bisschen für die Vergangenheit und/ oder Flugzeuge Interessiert ist hier gut aufgehoben. Die Ausstellung ist sehr liebevoll und abwechslungsreich gestaltet (Flugzeuge, Videos, Kleidung, Bilder usw.). Die Herren vor Ort sind sehr freundlich und freuen sich über jeden Besucher sehr😊

Sehr interessantes mit Liebe zum Detail errichtetes Museum. Eintritt kostet nur 3€ und man bekommt jede Menge dafür zu sehen. Hier hat man auch mal die Möglichkeit sogar eine Atombombe zu sehen.

Eine lehrreiche Ausstellung habe ich in diesem Museum gesehen. Die wird sehr nützlich für alle, die Interesse an Militärflugzeuge haben.

Sehr ansehnlich, kopremiert und überschaulich gestaltet.

Ein wunderschönes Museum, welches die Geschichte des ehemaligen Militärflugplatzes der Royal Air Force in Laarbruch aufzeigt. Es ist mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail und Leidenschaft eingerichtet. In der ehemaligen Kirche St. Peter's befindet sich eine große Auswahl sehr interessanter Exponate, darunter Flugzeugcockpits, Flugabwehrraketen, Triebwerke, Schleudersitze, Dioramen, Uniformen und vieles andere mehr sowie ein neues und einzigartiges Exponat, welches ausschließlich das Royal Air Force Museum Laarbruch beherbergt.

Als Grossexponate kann man eine English Electric Canberra PR.7 im Freien und eine Hawker Hunter T.7 im ehemaligen Kino bewundern. Die Hawker Hunter erscheint im neuen Glanz und ist mit ihrer einzigartigen Eleganz ein absoluter Blickfang.

All das von mir Erwähnte ist mit Worten nicht zu beschreiben von daher bitte selbst anschauen!

An dieser Stelle möchte ich mich bei Herrn Dr. Ahlbrecht für seine detaillierten Erläuterungen und bei Mr Rod Hawkins bedanken. Mr Rod Hawkins als ehemaliger Pilot der Royal Air Force brachte mir die gefährlichen und an die Leistungsgrenze eines Menschen gehenden militärischen Einsätze sehr nahe! Thank you very much!

A beautiful museum, which shows the history of the former military airfield of the Royal Air Force Laarbruch. It is set up with lots of ardour and passion for details.

In the former church of St. Peter's there is a large selection of very interesting exhibits, including aircraft cockpits, anti-aircraft missiles, engines, ejection seats, dioramas, uniforms and much more, as well as a new unique and exclusive exhibit which is only in the Royal Air Force Museum Laarbruch to be seen.

Large exhibits include an English Electric Canberra PR.7 outdoors and a Hawker Hunter T.7 in the former cinema. The Hawker Hunter now appears in new splendour and with its unique elegance is an absolute eye-catcher.

All the things I mentioned cannot be described with words, so please have a look for yourself!

At this point I would like to thank Dr. Ahlbrecht for his detailed explanations and Mr. Rod Hawkins. Mr. Rod Hawkins, a former navigator of the Royal Air Force, explained to me the dangerous military missions which were at the limit of human potential!

Ich bin mit deutlich kleineren Erwartungen gekommen und wurde mit sehr vielen Details und Originalen der Geschichte der RAF-Basis überrascht. Der Preis von 3EUR pro Person ist mehr als nur in Ordnung. Bitte weiter so, ist ein tolles kleines Museum welches durch einen Verein gepflegt und geführt wird.
