Chairlift Vianden

Such a beautiful chairlift with amazing views. It’s not very big up there but plenty of space to take a nice picture. There’s a restaurant up the top and you can hike back down if you want. There is an awesome hike down to the castle if you wanna skip the walk through town.

Such an incredible place. The views are outstanding. We visited early July and there was no queue at all. The little cafe at the top was amazing. Food was lovely and fresh, frozen latte was a little bit disappointing. Was more like mildly cool coffe with caramel syrup. I think mine was a one off so I’m not complaining too much!

Was such an amazing place, we made a 6 hour round trip to visit here again from Dortmund 😂 already planning to come back next year!!

I would say you only need one way - go up. Walk 15 minutes to the castle and then walk 10 minutes down to the town. You don't need to walk back up and go down again unless you fancy it!

Great experience and very friendly staff. The queue was short and very reasonable pricing. Good way to see the castle from another angle. Large car park close to the entrance.

It was my first time experiencing the chairlift. It was amazing! I have fear of heights and I was excited and worried at the same time about how the ride would be and what would happen in case things went downhill. But, the setup was very stable and it was a very slow ride and we enjoyed the view while going up the hill and while coming down. there are two options to select from - one way trip(5Euro for adult) or round about trip(7 Euro for adult). People who take one way trip have the option to either hike down or come via their bicycle. The top of the hill has a breathtaking view of that village in Luxembourg. If I visit the country again, I would definitely go and experience the Chairlift again.

My brother, I and our friend have been here and we had a really good time, the conversation with ILham was awesome, she's very friendly and professional, and she was thrilled when she knew we're also originally from her home country. Please give this lady a raise, she deserves it!

Such a cool experience! We went with three adults and three kids aged 5,3, and 1. The lift is easily accessible from the road with street parking and a few semi close lots. The Chairs seat two people so we had one kid go with one adult. I wore the 20 month old so she couldn’t have a tantrum and throw herself off. I was concerned we might lose a shoe though - I’d recommend stowing footwear or choosing shoes that can’t slip off like crocs. The lift brings you up to a restaurant and observation deck. Food was ok, nothing great but the view and experience made up for it plus there was ice cream and beer and the staff spoke English. FYI - there IS a trail from the peak to the castle, but it is very steep and slippery and not well marked, though it probably would have been hard to get lost.

A very nice way to see the beauty of this historic village. Stop by the cafe on top and enjoy the view. Hike down from top if you feel adventurous.

Taking this chairlift was a very nice experience. If you are in Vianden it is worth going up. The views of the village and the castle on the hill are superbes, amazing.

This chairlift is a great way to see all Vianden from above. The view is truly beautiful and. Once you are on the top there is a little restaurant and you can walk to the castle in about 10 minutes.
On a side note at the bottom of the chairloft there is a machine that will squash and print your 5 cent coin with a drawing of the castle.

Great way to visit the viewpoint or to start your walk to the castle. You can buy a return ticket or just a single to the top and walk back down.

If you are in Vianden, I would say this chairlift ride is a must. You can have a different perspective of the castle and incredible views of this picturesque village. Kids will definitely enjoy the ride. Free parking is very next to the tickets hop downhill.

I would definitely recommend this chairlift, you would be spending more time on this ride than any merry go round that too for just 7 euros of return fare :) The view while descending is drop dead gorgeous. On mountain top there is a restaurant which is also not too pricy, overall it would be good outing with some snacks to go with.

Chairlift to a small cafe overlooking the castle and valley. The ride is about 9 minutes each way. Great views during the ride. Fair price. Good location. Limited street parking in the area. There. Is a trail at the top you can walk down.

Very nice view on the ride and a unique experience. Keep in mind if you plan to visit the castle once you got up there, if you have a roundtrip ticket make sure you get back to the telesiege before 17:00. If not your walking back (still very doable). Price justifies the experience in my opinion

My kids enjoyed a lot with this view. There is also a restaurant at top to relax.

Totally worth it for the lift experience and the breathing view over Vianden castle and the surrounding area. Families with two small kiddos can manage to squeeze in one chair.

While walking down the castle is not that hard I decided to climb up to the télésiège-station to get down. Amazing views! I would definitely recommend if you're either going up or down. One way ticket and the other by walk, because you need to see the neighborhood.
