If u are in the Zarcero area, it's definitely worth a drive up to Palmira. For a small town bar/restaurant, it's got excellent local fare. My favorite is the Ceviche (fish, or shrimp, or mixed - all really good!). The Chicharrones with "yuca" (cassava) are also super yummy and good portion size!!. Service can be a little slow at times, but always worth the short wait. You get a good mix of local Palmireños, but also plenty of folks from around the greater Zarcero area, and even iut-of-towners who have discovered this cozy spot!
