Tica's Café

Our family positively loves this Cafe! The omelets are terrific.

We think it's a good idea to request eggs that are "not overcooked." Otherwise you will get that Tico-style, dry, brown surface from the bottom of the pan.

But they are very attentive to cooking the eggs a bit less, so they stay soft and yellow.

And they do a terrific job with the luxurious veggies inside your omelet!

The drip coffee is also wonderful, served fresh with your drip system in front of you.

Don't forget to order the marvelous fruit drinks.

Casados are also excellent. The prices can't be beat. Be sure to order some extra cooked vegetables on the side, because they make these better than anyone!

We also had a very good cubierta de queso (fried corn masa tortilla with crispy cheese, served with sour cream). This is a favorite dish of mine in Costa Rica, and the one my wife and I shared today was amazing!

The food was excellent along with the coffee. The proprietor is kind and gracious. We will be back on future trips.
