El Fogón de Lola

We had lunch here. After our days in Cocles, where there is only bad food for outrageous prices, this restaurant was a very positive experience both in terms of food and prices. It also seems to be a popular stop for tour groups. Parking is guarded.

Looks like this is THE place to stop for a meal, and for good reason. Great food, great service, and good prices.

Very good typical Costa Rican food, some of the best we have had at a soda. The service is fast. Most meals come with some drink included and children menu comes with ice cream. Overall, good value for money and a good stop when travelling to Limon or Sarapiqui

When travelling from San Jose, Costa Rica to Puerto Viejo, the journey through the National Park is slow, El Fogon de Lola is located before, if travelling north. Great stop off, very well staffed, friendly. Good food and lots of road trip goodies. Very good value.

The best sopa azteca of Costa Rica. Go and try it out.

Stopped here and enjoyed it! I loved the chicken quesadilla. They also have a little cart inside where you can buy local snacks and candies. Would recommend!

Great stop for lunch on our journey from SJO to La Fortuna! I recommend the Aztec soup (pictured)!

Awesome dinner in Mother’s Day Eve! Very reasonable prices. So glad we happened upon this place. Homemade tortillas and excellent red and green salsas at each table. Bummer they use Britt Intenso coffee pods in their “espresso” machine.

When in route to or from Limon, this is a must have! The service here is phenomenal like out of this world!!!! The food is even better. It’s hard to earn 5 stars because nothing is perfect but El Fogon de Lola is perfect. They deserve 5 more stars to be honest!!!

Very good restaurant, clean, excellent service, super good taste!
You are probably will stuck a little in the mountains or if going to puerto viejo so buy some stuff from here for the road ahead, trust me it will save you

Perfect place to have a breakfast

Always gotta stop at this place when I visit my family in Costa Rica. Delicious food done the old fashioned wood stove way. I recommend the lomito with gallo pinto.
