El Arbol

The best place we stayed at during our two month trip in Central America! We liked the location a lot as you stay in the middle of a beautiful Costa Rican protected rainforest (Manzanillo) and have the real jungle experience (including the bugs), while the beach, restaurants and supermarket are only a 5 (Manzanillo) to 10 minutes (Punta Uva/Cocles) drive away. There are two elevated houses, tastefully decorated, cosy and clean. The kitchen is well equipped, the terrace surrounds part of the main floor and has great views on the surrounding forest, so we had breakfast while viewing and hearing the howler monkeys. Beds and pillows were comfortable and of good quality as well. To our surprise, the Wi-Fi was pretty fast on the front side of the house, faster than most other places we stayed at in Costa Rica. There is no cellular reception though. Last but not least, the owners Marjolein and Jan Hein have been really welcoming and know the area well. Marjolein organised a guide for us to visit the Manzanillo reserve and that was a great experience as the guide was knowledgable and did the utmost of finding animals for us to view and took us to parts where you cannot come as an independent visitor. Altogether our stay was a memorable experience and would certainly stay here again when in Costa Rica.

The most amazing place I ever slept! The owners are super friendly and had helpt us with making plans what we could do during our stay.
The houses really urned their names as jungle houses. The houses are surrounded with ontouched rainforest. You will see and hear a lot of animals like 3 types of monkeys, toucans, zorro's, hummingbirds etc. And even spiders, snakes and a lot of other insects are very common.
But realise that you are in the jungle, so the animals and insects are able to come inside the house, except the monkeys.
If we could we would stay here forever.

Fantastisch, zomaar in de jungle staat dit prachtige en luxueus ingerichte huis waar de aapjes vlak voor je neus door de bomen slingeren. Echt een aanrader voor mensen die van de natuur houden.

Exclenente sercio de los dueños. El lugar es muy tranquilo y cerca de Manzanillo.
