Great steakhouse! The Entraña was amazing. The food was really good. Great wine! The only thing that was not a 10 were the desserts if they improve those it will be a world class place.

I have been to many steak house restaurants… this one rates with the Best … Manny’s (Minneapolis) Benjamin’s (New York) Bob’s (Dallas)

Long-awaited first time at Doris Metropolitan (although I figured it would be in my old home place of New Orleans and not the original San Jose 🇨🇷 location! Beautiful space in Santa Ana neighborhood with impeccable service. Thoroughly enjoyed the artichoke flower, sizable octopus app and the chopped tagliatelle (never seen this noodle chopped like that and the pecorino Romano was A+) but the T-Bone was the star of the show. Was just the two of us but cool to see so many families enjoying meals at Doris (kids menu and a playground outside) - if was a local I’d take advantage of the more casual portion of the menu (burgers and pastas). Hope to make it back one day, much more affordable than the US menus and just an all-around great first dining experience at Doris!

By far one of the best restaurants in Costa Rica.
The food is very good, I would say that their specialty is steaks. I highly recommend the picanha and entraña, they are amazing. I also think they made their own bread which is really good too.
We love to go there and order a bunch of plates to share.
I am not a big fan of their brunch, but It is definitely a great place for lunch and dinner.

If you love meats, you must stop over here at Doris, they have all sorts of cuts and cooked to perfection the way you like it. Also a really nice restaurant and environment perfect to impress a date or to celebrate with friends and family. Highly recommend 👌🏽

Best meal I had while in Costa Rica. Delicious selections of meat, the service is impeccable and so is the cooking. The wine list is quite exquisite and I bet worth trying each wine on the list. Their home bread was incredibly tasty and lovely opener for next dishes. It was pricey, but worth it. Would warmly recommend it to anyone.

I’ve been eating at Doris for many years and it has always been solid. In a small country with a population that appreciates good steak, of course, there are literally hundreds of restaurants to choose from. Doris is absolutely a top-5. They source amazing meat, do their own aging, and they take things seriously, so you will always get a good cut.

Go for the entrecote or the entraña (skirt). The best appetizer is the kebab. And while I don’t eat much bread, their’s is addictive!

Another big plus is their ample bar. Wether you want a great bottle of red, a Sicilian digestif, a small batch grappa… or an inspired cocktail, you’ll be taken care of.

One of the best stake restaurants in town, the Tuna Tartar was amazing, with toasted dread made in house, we also order the picanha prime a superior meat with raclette chesse and truffle.

High quality service from everyone, we had a great experience and will come again. High price but well spend.

This restaurant does deserve a five star rating for the food, service, ambience, and even for the pricing. Although not the most economical, they do prepare the food with such a professional presentation and the flavors are well balanced. I ordered their chorizo and bulgur salad. I added an avocado and over easy egg to the steak burger; very much pleased. The restaurant and bathroom had a very clean appearance which contributed to the five star rating I gave. I would come back sporadically so as not to break the bank.

Awesome steak house. Outstanding service and excellent food. Steaks dry aged for more intense flavor and tenderness. Affagotto for dessert. Memorable night with friends.

Out of all the places I ate in Costa Rica this one was by far the best. An exceptional experience after some of the places I had been to in Costa Rica. The staff was excellent, some of the bread was truly amazing. The servings were gigantic and the prices were very reasonable considering what they gave you. That's not the cheapest place but definitely very good. Highly recommended.

Everything about this place is top notch! I can not recommend it enough! Go and thank me later, from the biggest foodie you know.

Meat cooked to perfection great service. Large selecrions of good quality wine. Just over all a great experience.

Feels like home but with world class culinary flair. So comfortable and beautiful. Gardens and wonderful spaces. Determined focus on the highest quality ingredients. This place wont disappoint. Highly recommended.

ServiceDoris Metropolitan has to be without a doubt one of the best fine dining steakhouses in Costa Rica.

The steaks are well aged and perfectly grilled. Most cuts are large enough to share.

The appetizers are very good as well, I recommend the sampler if you are at least 4. The roasted eggplant with tahini is amazing as well.

The wine list is well priced with a good variety and price range.

The only drawback is that it's a bit expensive, specially for non-essentials like coffee or soda, that end up hiking up the bill.

Table service is very good.

It also has a good car parking inside which 99% of the time has a space available.

Good food, service, and ambiance. And you will not leave hungry.

Definitely five star restaurant. Meat was cooked perfectly. Servers were great. Great decor. Great wine selection. Will return again.
