Cafe Marquesina

It was an absolute treat to visit the Cafe Marquesina coffee plantation. Even though we did not book in advance we were warmly welcomed, were invited to sample a coffee and we could book a tour for the next day.

It is a family run business and the love for coffee speaks from every detail and the enthusiasm of the owners in explaining how they run their farm. They even arranged an interpreter for us, because our Spanish is not the best.

In a four-hour tour you get to taste different preparations of their coffee, you get an extensive explanation about coffee and it’s origins, you get a tour of the plantation, you get to harvest coffee beans yourself, and they show you all the steps in the processing of of the fresh coffee beans to roasted coffee. To top it all off, you are treated on a delicious traditional lunch. We had a lot of fun and the hospitality at Cafe Marquesina is more than excellent. This was without a doubt one of the highlights of our trip to Colombia! If you consider visiting a coffee plantation, visit this one, you will love it!

Amazing tour and outstanding coffee. Don Antonio and his family have created a memorable experience for locals and expats alike. His wife’s cooking is the best I’ve had here in Colombia, nothing like a delicious home cooked meal to end the tour. Highly recommend!

A truly great experience!
It was a fun time! We were shown different coffee making processes with fresh coffee. Plus, the whole coffee process from planting to harvest was demonstrated, with a chance to pick coffee beans ourselves... Having had a garden growing up, this was a secret thrill: I loved being able to harvest coffee beans on the plantation.

Everyone there was super nice- and even when my kids were starting to get bored, they had things to keep them occupied. A truly wonderful time that I hope to be able to repeat in the future!

Delicioso café al natural muy bonito

Una finca cafetera muy cerca de Medellín , tiene 4 hectáreas sembradas en café, en este lugar se pueden ver todos los procesos para hacer un buen café, desde sembrar la semilla hasta la tostión. En el tour se pueden probar cuatro métodos distintos para preparar el café, así que se puede decir que tienen una cata de café muy completa. En este lugar venden un café orgánico especial, excelente calidad, venden la cerveza de café, te de café, zumo de limón, pollos para consumo, entre otros. Muy recomendado, vale la pena visitar.
