Great place for the whole family!
Only downside is that we were a group of 11 and one senior on wheelchair and even though the zoo provides wheelchair the roads are not handicap friendly, we had to help between 4 people to get out senior down the hill a few times because it was impossible for him to do it himself.

Absolutely worth the trek to visit. It is beautiful. You can tell they truly care for the animals. The birds exhibit was my favorite. It rained in us all day but we did not even care. We had a lot of fun. The staff was wonderful. All the animal exhibits had the animal information in both English and Spanish, so I did not need to translate for my husband which was wonderful. We will come back next time we r in the region.

The park is big and has some cool spots to take picktures with some animal and dinasour sculptures, there is also a place where you can find food and it also has a lot of bathrooms. The animals were the best part, the biggest like hippos, elephants, rhinos, and more are outstanding. Depending on the hour they may be asleep or not. But I definitely recommend this place.

There were lots of different animals to see. They seem to be well taken care of. Take with you enough water and enjoy your visit.

Amazing experience. First I gotta say: go as early as you can (they open at 9am) or else you will see half of the animals asleep. Bring anti-mosquitoes lotion + sunscreen, there's a good portion of the walk you will be doing in open areas.

The good care of the animals it's noticeable, we enjoyed the time spent there.

One last tip: don't take the alternative road, just go through the main road entrance (or you will end up in a one-sided way inside of a neighborhood).

An interestingly laid out Biopark zoo. At the entrance, you walk along a long bridge, and then you're met with a prehistoric set up of dinosaurs. Walking further into the center of the attraction, there's a gift shop, a coffee shop, ice cream shops, and a Frisby fried chicken restaurant set in between the dinosaurs and the entrances to the walk through zoos. There are two separate jungle like walk throughs, which take up to at least one hour each to pass through. The one on the right leads to animals such as Zebras, Ostriches, Giraffe, Lion, Meerkats, Rhinoceroses, Turtles, Hippopotamuses, Elephants, Deer, Chimpanzees, and Water Buffalo, the left side leads to Peacocks, Ducks, Fish, Snakes, Monkeys, Puma, Parrots, and a mockup of an Indigenous scene. Anyone in your family would have a good time here, the animals are well kept and they don't seem to be stressed.

We left the main road and drove down a poorly maintained road; this road opened out to a nice road. Then,we passed through a gate into a car park. There was a fee to park, but we came in a taxi.
I find it odd that this place is not serviced by local transport. There is plenty of parking.
This is the off season, so we were pretty much on our own; at the entrance we were able to obtain the senior discount.
From the turnstiles, it was a good 300 m to the main building, which was flanked by statues of prehistoric animals. As we walked through the center of the building, there were statues of Zulu people, a reception and help desk, also a few shops.
On a large map of the grounds, you could see where you were, and then you could plan your route.
As you exit the main building, there are more statues of prehistoric animals; past them, a restaurant and a space where vendors were set up selling ice cream and other local foods.
You are faced with two options, to go left or right; both options are good, we started on the left and finished on the right.
We picked a very hot day. Our driver told us that we needed to have sunscreen, an umbrella, and water. The driver was so right.
As we walked around, we found that there was some shade and seating to rest on. I think that we were lucky as the place was almost empty. This gave us plenty of time to enjoy the park.
We found it well constructed and there was plenty of information in English and Spanish.
Bring a camera as there were plenty of opportunities to get some great photos.
Due to the time of day we were there, most of the larger mammals were asleep, and some of the animals were not on view due to new construction of their habitats.
Even so, we enjoyed what we did see. I would say that you need to think about the visit in that there is a lot of walking; so, for the kids and the old think of taking plenty of rest stops.
Our last stop was the restaurant area where we were able to sit in the shade and enjoy a lunch before we returned to our lodging.
All of the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable; the place was clean, I think that we would return just to see how the new habitats have turned out.
One bad thing about the place is that it is not serviced by local transportation, so make sure that you have transportation booked for your return.

This is an amazing place to visit by yourself or others. Animals look great and healthy which is the most important part. Prices are okay and food is the only thing that could be better, still it can’t put aside the beauties you can find in the park. I’m eagerly waiting for the new extra parts that the park will have in the future.

It’s a beautiful park and well maintained. We went early during the week and it was very nice to enjoy the park without a lot of people, make sure you taking comfortable shoes because it requires some walking, also bring cash for some of the food trucks.
The animals look healthy a lot of the are rescue animals

Top notch. These people accept animals that are no longer being used for play or pleasure, so they can take care of them for the rest of their lives. For instance they have a leopard that someone raised and cut it's ears and shaved its K9s so it's not even an animal that would have a chance back in the wild after it's previous career. So this place pays to bring them here so they can help make the rest of their lives better. They don't go out searching for fresh caught animals which is great. They have morals. They also have a great selection of animals that look as happy and healthy as possible. They even mention certain situations that aren't ideal and they'll change it up to make sure the animals are happiest.

The park was absolutely fantastic, it's just a shame that not enough advertising to promote this park. We went when it was bot too busy during the week, they are currently updating some of the venue so the animals have been moved however your given a guided tour by the staff at the zoo.

Very amazing zoo, well built to the benefit of both tourists and the animals. Plenty of space is provided, but most of the animals are easily visible no matter where the are standing. This is allowed by a variety of perspectives into multiple enclosures.

Plenty of non overpriced food options, so you can tend to your hunger and thirst. Prices, compared to larger countries, are decent.

Three or four hours should be enough to cover the whole zoo, given you don't take too much time with pictures! We missed the giraffes, but the rest we were able to see.

A must visit if you come to Pereira! Though it is a bit small and quite a bit of walking, the quality makes up for it!

I would advise bringing a hat to cool. However, there are many of shady places as well for those of us who cannot handle heat very well

Still partly under construction, but one of the nicest zoos I've ever been.
