Super seafood restaurant. Its a little expensive but worth every penny. Staff were very professional and friendly, the food was cooked to perfection and well presented and the music perfect for the ambiance.

Finding this restaurant in a relatively small city such as Ibague was quiet a surprise. It is just amazing. It is not only the delicious food presented in an creative way but also the excellent service, the great design details and the fact that the owner gave us great food recommendations. Also beverages are excellent such as the Pisco Sour. If you are into food in general and close to Ibague make a stop. If you love Peruvian and seafood, you should dedicate a trip to Ibague only to visit this restaurant. For me food-wise it’s the best surprise of the year so far. 100% recommended!

Everything great, good food, atmosphere everything. Just please change the menu. It’s a pretentious joke that forces people to guess what they’re eating.

I have to agree with all previous reviews on the excellency of the food and it’s presentation. We were three and absolutely loved the place. The prompt and diligent attention is to be praised. We ordered “Los Secretos de la Leche de Tigre” which was a combination of ceviche and fried/baked fish with criolla halves served on a rock slab; awesome.
Others were “Morir Soñando” and “Saltado de Mariscos”, the latter, a healthy and scrumptious combination of seafood soy sauce, French Fries and banana leaf boiled rice. All portions were correctly sized and sufficient. Kudos to the cooks.

Wow! I don’t even know where to start with this place!!!! AMAZING FOOD! I think it’s the best ceviche I’ve ever had. Everything we ordered was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. I’d go back here everyday if I could. This restaurant deserves more than 5 stars. I’m not sure I’ve ever said that on google reviews haha. GO NOW!!!

José María welcomes you at Maria y El Mar with his contagious energy, which is masterfully translated into Peruvian cuisine using the best Colombian ingredients with a touch of its influence. His attention to detail is impeccable. Most dishes aren’t available for takeout, a careful consideration for the final experience that is truly only fully appreciated in his uniquely cozy brutalist space. The ambiance, accompanied by a carefully curated music selection, wouldn’t be out of place in London or New York. To that point, it’s been a very long time since a locale in either of these cities has impressed me as much as this place has.

The customer experience, the flavors, the consistency, and the energy truly swept me away. The ceviche was flawless, the seafood frittata was cooked with fresh ingredients to perfection, and the Lomo Saltado was exquisitely complex and tender. The Pisco Sour was just perfect—refreshing and strong.

Maria y El Mar is a must-stop on the Bogotá to Eje Cafetero route. Believe me, you will not be disappointed

I have eaten Peruvias food in many countries. As well as almost every city in Colombia. This is top a 3 experience and certainly best in the country. Impresionante.

Surprisingly good ceviche. Chaufa was awesome too and the sea parrillada was delicious. Food is served in generous amounts. Manager was very helpful recommending dishes. Waiters really cared about providing a great service. Amazing place in a trendy block in Ibagué.
