The Jamot Hospital in Yaounde has been given a facelift following a series of infrastructural, technical, and environmental renovations that took place at the facility recently.

The Director of the hospital, in a press conference on February 22, told journalists that, despite the renovations and modernisation of certain structures, the social duties of the hospital to the public have not been tampered with. Two new buildings have been constructed for psychiatric and pulmonary patients as well as a new high status structure to meet the demands of the public. A new cold room has also been set in place at the mortuary with a storage capacity of 80 places.

The new structure for psychiatric patients has been built to accommodate 78 patients with modern and secure rooms, which according to the Director, are affordable to all. The building for pulmonary disease patients has a capacity of 30 and the hospital has acquired new equipments for the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary disease.

Hôpital de référence et bien situé, juste à côté de Camtel. Très grande. Permet une prise en charge de plusieurs types de pathologies. Donc l'hôpital JAMOT n'est pas un lieu pour les "fous" comme on entend mais avec beaucoup d'autres services
