Lodge Casa Chueca

Ran into car trouble right outside of Talca, and they were able to accommodate us last minute. Unbelievably beautiful grounds with garden, pool, and riverfront access. Delicious dinner and complementary breakfast. Our room was very nice as well with private balcony overlooking the garden.

I love this place, full of nature very close to the city, a must for stay if you are around Talca. Besides it's like a little town here

What an amazing place.
I arrived in casa chueca whiout expecting much, it's close to Talca, so I imagined some old building in a dry full of cement, ugly place.
I was totally wrong (oh so wrong).
Kathrein and Franz have created basically what can only be described as an oasis, the place is beautifull, you are surrounded by trees, and green colors, the food they serve is gourmet, breakfast big and tasty.
There isnswiming pool, bbw place, even a very good gym.
But all of this is eclipsed by the way the owners are, after just 1 or 2 days I feelt as if I known them for years, they treat me like a guest that has been going for 20 years there.
You feel like they include you in their family.
They are super helpful, also the staff there are great and friendly, full of advices and ready yo help.
I absolutely recomend this place .

When asked upon our return to the States, "What was the best part of your trip to Chile?", Shelley and I thought about the places we visited over our two-week stay in October of 2022. We spent time in three areas. We spent four days on Chiloe Island, off the coast of southern Chile, two and a half days in the Maule Valley, a couple hours south of Santiago, and we spent four days in the high desert at San Pedro de Atacama. All were uniquely beautiful in different ways. But it was the visit to Casa Chueca in the Maule Region and the trip to the mountains with Franz Schubert, President of the Trekkingchile Foundation, that was the trip highlight for us.

We arrived at Casa Chueca at 9 p.m., much later than planned, but were greeted warmly by Franz who soon asked if we had plans for the following day. He said the next day he was taking his newly arrived landscape architecture intern into the mountains to the east for the day and that there was plenty of room for the two of us to join them. He planned to scout out the area for condors, trekking/mountain climbing activities, snow, the passability of roads, and the advent of spring in the mountains. We couldn't refuse.

It was a long drive, but we didn't notice as we talked about Chile, about the nature we were seeing, the changing vegetation, the lakes, the towns, and eventually the mountains. It was a beautiful drive, especially once we got to the mountains, which were resplendent, still partially covered in gleaming snow. We stopped often to enjoy and photograph the special places Franz knew about. We saw mountains, passes, various geological formations, waterfalls, lakes, condors, mountain goats, a grey fox, as well as colorful flowers and bushes dressed in spring colors, all accompanied by Franz' explanations and stories about adventures he'd experienced in the areas we visited.

It was a wonderful day. We couldn't have had a better "tour" guide. Franz loves this area, and loves sharing its beauty with others, whether as a guide, an educator or an environmentalist.

An amazing place with a lot to offer. From a really cool museum to animals and the go-kart racetrack, there are so many things you can do here. Also, the guided services and accommodation are excellent! Come check it out!

Die Lodge von Kati und Franz können wir wärmstens empfehlen. Sie haben uns, auf Anfrage, gerne aufgenommen und uns in unserem Wohnmobil auf dem Parkplatz übernachten lassen. Wir haben den riesigen grünen Garten und den Pool genossen und haben mit den beiden und ihrem Sohn ein vegetarisches Abendessen genossen.

Es un lugar realmente hermoso, muy tranquilo, especial para ir a descansar, muy cerca de la ciudad, con amplias áreas verdes para salir a caminar, excelente atención, sus habitaciones en Perfecto estado, todo muy limpio y ordenado, nos encanto, seguro volveremos.

Fui por trabajo y es un grato y bonito lugar.
Solo estuve por una tarde y pudimos recorrer todo el prado y conocer sus diferentes lugares de interés.
La comida muy rica y se sentía muy fresca y natural.

Un lugar muy agradable los espacios que tienen para educación y su áreas verdes lo combierten en un lugar muy grato y tranquilo para compartir y coexistir con la naturaleza a pocos kilómetros de talca

Zu Beginn meiner Chile Reise war ich Anfang Januar für 4 Tage in der Casa Chueca. Es war super familiär, alle haben zusammengesessen, zum Essen oder auch nur zum Reden. Es haben sich immer Leute zusammengefunden um am nächsten Tag einen Ausflug zu machen. Die Umgebung ist traumhaft schön und noch gar nicht so bekannt. Mit Barbara Menses (vermittelt durch Gastgeber Franz) konnte ich einen tollen Ausflug zur Lagune und mehreren Wasserfällen unternehmen. Traumhaft! Und ich habe super Tipps für die weitere Reise bekommen.
Immer wieder, auch gerade wenn man alleine reist.

Maravilloso. Inmejorable atención, el lugar es bellísimo, bien cuidado, lleno de verde y ornamentación ad-hoc. Cocinan con ingredientes orgánicos, sin pesticidas, son muy concientes. Fomentan el turismo, se dan el tiempo de recomendarte lugares, incluso alojamientos "competencia".

Las piezas cuentan con libros de fotografías del dueño, las cuales son de muy buena calidad y bien referenciadas, con indicaciones y recomendaciones. Franz, personaje amable, directo, de sonrisa fácil, humilde y cordial.

Muy recomendado, volveré cada vez que pueda.

Super expérience, les hôtes sont très arrangeants et proposent pleins d'excursions.

Sehr schöne Lodge bei Talca. Alles ordentlich und sauber. Der Besitzer kennt sich super in Chile aus, sodass er beim planen von Reisen durch Chile sehr viele Tipps parat hat! Wer möchte kann Touren aller Art auch direkt hier vor Ort buchen. Ich würde auf jeden Fall wieder hierher kommen! Einfach mal ihre Website angucken :)

Un bel endroit à quelques km de Talca ! La bonne humeur et l ambiance chaleureuse de Franz et Kathy font de ce lieu ce qu il est . Tout était parfait et dans la bonne humeur.

Wir sind zu dritt hier in der Casa Chueca. Es ist wunderschön. Die ganze Natur, die Planzen und die Gastfreundschaft der Mitarbeiter sind super!!! Wir geniessen jeden Abend das leckere, vegetarische Abendessen und am Morgen das vielfältige Frühstück. Unser Zimmer ist sehr gemütlich und familienfreundlich. Heute durften mit Franz, dem Besizter der Casa Chueca, einen wunderschönen Ausflug in die Berge geniessen. Durch die Wälder bis hin zu einem Bach war alles mit dabei. Franz ist ein super Führer und konnte uns auf seine lustige, und nette Art allerlei über die chilenischen Pflanzen und Tiere erzählen. Die Casa Chueca ist sehr toll um einige Tage dort zu verbringen und einfach ein bisschen zu sein. Danke für alles!!

Un lugar amplio, con un entorno mágico en contacto con la naturaleza, tranquilo, limpio y atendidos por sus propios dueños.
Recomendable

Genial posada, y especialmente sus fundadores, un aporte neto para la región del Maule y para Chile. "Campamento base" para variadas excursiones por esa muy bonita zona de Chile central.
