Wanpen Thai Food

Authentic Thai food (but they ask you how spicy you want it when ordering, so even if you don't like spicy food you can still enjoy Asian flavors). The red curry is to die for, absolutely delicious. The Pad Thai is good, but not nearly as flavorful. Super friendly and kind service, and they speak good English, not common in Chilean restaurants. The place has a Thai feel thanks to the murals and the lights, but it also has a fun vibe thanks to the bright colors. There is ample space inside and a lovely large terrace surrounded by a garden. An overall very pleasant atmosphere where to enjoy really good food and drinks, including local wines at very reasonable prices. Recommended.

What a pleasure it was to stumble across a Thai restaurant run by a sweet Thai lady and her Chileno husband (who speaks Thai, and could pass for a Thai-Chileno). Working the kitchen is K Wanpen’s sister, plus a close friend brought over from Thailand, so the food is authentic.

On the beautifully decorated garden patio and inside the tastefully arranged dining room, you may feast on heartwarming Thai dishes lovingly adapted to the cultured Chileno palate. For me, two dishes stand out: ‘Tom Kha Gai’ and ‘Gung Tod’, which both taste just like what you’d find in a chic Bangkok venue.

I miss Thailand and wanted to try everything, but I was getting full. So I ordered for take home, the ‘Gang Keow Wan’ (green curry) with the Chileno twist of exchanging the fish for the chicken. And I’m sure the crispy fried Spring Roll will be perfect for my next visit.

This place uses fresh ingredients, and even puts authentic lemongrass into some soups. They have imported some of the gorgeously orange Thai tea to serve hot, but if you want it on ice with condensed milk the way that only Thai people know, I suggest that you call and tell them way ahead of time.

You are going to meet some really nice people here, and leave feeling pampered.

My family and I have been enjoying ordering Thai food here. It is delicious. Plus they are so friendly and kind. They offer different kind of soups in the menu, all of them, incredible delicious and healthy.

It is a bit expensive for the amount of food that is served but the taste is really authentic.

Easily the best thai food in all Chile! AUTHENTIC. The tastes are almost almost there. Is just a little that is missed for the perfect result (i think this can be due to different cuisine within thailand too). One of my biggest disappointments was that they didnt have thai beef salad (that i usually cook myself)!

BUT.

This IS real thai food and i would recommend this place every day of the week!!!

For being in Chile its definitely a five star restaurant. Compared to all the thai food ive eaten (a lot) this is ranked on my top 10.

The restaurant itself is very cozy, well cleaned and has this wonderful and romantic garden.

Comida expectacular, con buen sabor y muy auténtico!!!! Pedimos PadThai nivel picante 2, super bueno y el servicio 100% atentos. Pedimos también curry verde, entradas, postre y ensalada con pescado frito. Los sabores eran magníficos.

Destaca también su ambiente, super lindo con muchos colores y una terraza agradable. Tienen muchos flores. Los baños eran limpios.

Es mi primera vez probando comida tailandesa, me gustó. Como chileno, tiene sabores muy innovadores. Buen ambiente, bonito entorno, excelente atención, rápido, rica comida. Recomendado.
