Grocery Checkout York

Friendly staff, and great bulk snack section!

This grocery store was a great addition to York lanes, especially for the students that live on campus and need to get a few ingredients before the actual grocery day. It's not a place to do all your groceries but it's very helpful. The prices are ok, some items are little bit overpriced but nothing crazy. They have a few lunch options too, mostly salads. Also, there's a little bulk food area.

Very convenient little place, would be a perfect business if only they sold seedless green grapes

Grab a quick snack here but not your groceries. This place is a reminder that groceries could be a hired price, but because you’re not stupid you’re not going to waste your money here. You can grab one of those quick snacks or meals that are prepped, maybe an apple but nothing else.

Expensive and not many options here. At least the staff is very friendly

A LOT of their stuff is expired and been sitting on the shelves for months! Be careful when buying and check the dates.

Paid for the tortilla packet and walked away.

When I turned back, I saw the owner/manager/ employee telling the cashier something about my backpack in-front of the other shoppers.
P.S: I did not rob anything! You can check your cameras if there are any!

And stop charging tax on groceries. You CANNOT charge tax on groceries.

Grossly overpriced when its ironically supposed to be catered to university students. Expect regular items to be inflated by up to $3 more from prices that you would get elsewhere outside. Unfortunately, most businesses on this campus capitalise on the fact that students living on campus do not have much alternatives, hence overcharging is a norm.

Ridiculously overpriced (3 to 4 dollars more compared to your average store) for everything from snacks to produce... which is absurd given that york lanes is meant for college students.
