Food Basics

The only thing l didn't like about this store is the deli counters are too high for handicap people like myself to see you. They need to have a bell to get their attention. Had to get manager help to get a fresher pack of food than there was when l first asked the younger worker. Was surprised to see me come pack with boss. Haha.

They have the basics, and that's about it. If this is what you are after, you are at the right place. There is lots of parking in the plaza. The plaza looks old, but it's still ok.

I have been shopping at this Food Basics location for over 15 years now. I usually go once a month, (if I have the funds), & I find shopping there to be cost friendly & their produce is fresh & reasonably priced. The girls that know me ask me where I have been!!? Some months, I can't afford to shop, & that is when I rely on the food bank. The store is exceptionally clean & I'm used to where everything is! It feels like 'family' when I shop there - everyone is so friendly. For the last 15 years, I have also had my prescriptions filled at Drug Basics. They also know me very well, & are helpful so friendly! Then there are times when I'm 'between' having money to spend - do I eat? should I pay my bills? do I go without my prescriptions?
I'm not going to be shopping anywhere else!

I went here to pick up some stuff for my son's camp,the store is so we'll stick everything I wanted they had very clean .

Very clean wonderful staff, always a good shopping experience coming to this store ! Stocks are full always and produce is my favorite because it's always so neat, colorful and fresh !!!

It's a average store, would expect more variety of stuff at there store

Honestly a hidden gem. Dirt cheap prices for fruit & produce and the staff are incredibly nice given the abuse they deal with from grumpy customers. I watched a cashier get yelled at and berated because she didn’t kick someone out of her express lane that had more than 8 items. Cut the workers some slack! I love coming here on my lunch breaks and stocking up for the week.

This Food Basics has the BEST store manager! Her staff are very accommodating & attend quickly to customer enquiries. She takes,it upon herself to look after the customers,with courtesy and professionalism! A great asset to Food Basics Store on Sheppard/ Markham.

Great shopping and decent prices. This location has great item displays, well stacked and roomy in the aisles for carts to pass through easily.

Would probably have everything u need. Variety of veg and non veg items of international origin and other home-need stuff. They have beautiful flowers as well. Almost every variety of ice cream and wide range of cheese. Good to go. Everyone must visit once.

Perfect place to get your groceries. Clean and safe and spacious environment. Have everything you need. Friendly service too. Highly recommend 👌.

Fruits are fresh meats are fresh all at a price you can afford look around for packages that you can get with a piece of mind .

Good local supermarket, has big lines inside at the busy times but otherwise carries many grocery items and staff is very friendly, they also have a bathroom.

Great place to shop, it's mostly clean well stocked, if you can't find and item employees are happy to help or if a product is out they're glad to check the back for more

Prices are very good. And they have the best staff I have ever met in any supermarket. In many occasion I received help from them in this location

Nice and clean place they have their own pharmacy too lots of parking just a few blocks away from high way 401

Excellent pricing, good range of products, very good pharmacy. The only thing they are not good at is matching the price. They should price match with other major grocery stores.

Convenient, clean, comfortable to shop, the iles are wide and well labeled, prices are great, there's always a sale on each week

Nice experience. All items in stock, except of course, for rice that is on sale. Disappointing, this happens all the time.

Great local supermarket. The staff are friendly and helpful! Lately, there seem to be fewer products on the shelves.
