The Black Cat Cafe/The Tamworth Hotel

We had the pleasure of touring this historic hotel during the 175th Anniversary of the village of Tamworth. This is a gorgeous hotel that has been tastefully renovated and decorated. The owners have done a marvellous job keeping this hotel 'iconic' to the village of Tamworth. Well done!

A large group of us went to the Black Cat Cafe at Tamworth after a paddle on Mellon Lake. The cafe is located in the Tamworth Hotel and is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The food was inexpensive, and delicious, and the service was really fast and efficient! Their creative fruit drinks were awesone. Next time I'll try their coffee and ice cream. We loved sitting out on their beautiful verandah!

Lovely place for a quick stop for an eat-in breakfast/lunch, or takeout. The owners have really done a nice job maintaining the old-world vibe of this historic hotel. Many options, including vegetarian choices. Service is very friendly. We enjoyed chatting with the owner. Look forward to an overnight stay when they start a B&B next year..

Great historic place to stop for a treat, serving huge double scoop ice cream cones for $3, or can have it in a cup, at the Black Cat Cafe. There is a second hand shop attached to it, fun to browse through random items. Cool old fashioned porch to sit and enjoy refreshment on. The home-baked style sweets all look mouthwatering, however my favorite by far is the googley-eyed donuts

We were gifted a night at this beautiful Hotel. From the moment we walked in, we looked around in awe at the attention to detail. Kevin and Carol have done an excellent job on building, and now perfecting the job of going above and beyond for their guests. We would highly recommend the Tamworth Hotel to anyone who is looking for a unique place to stay.

We stayed at this gorgeous hotel for a few nights when we moved to Tamworth, and that worked out perfectly. Carol and Kevin are very welcoming and made sure our bellies were full of homemade baked goods We didn't see any ghosts, but we expect that the spirits are on their best behavior when guests are in the hotel out of respect for the effort the owners have put into the place. Have a snack on the balcony and enjoy the view. Reliable wifi.

Great food options for a small location. We have planned trips around the Friday pizza.

Really one of the only things to do in Tamsworth. Worth the drive if you're staying in the area. Lovely cafe with a quaint seating area. Decent prices and good selection. Friendly staff.

Absolutely amazing food and good value. Saturday night dinner special is HIGHLY recommended! You have a huge choice of seating, from indoors to outdoor patios (two levels) and comfy seats in the yard. Very friendly staff.

If your in Tamworth you got to eat here. Good food great porch.We ate outside. Friendly service. Also check out the rest of this nice village.

Everything about this place is a little bit surreal. Could spend many hours over many weekends sipping coffee, snacking, listening, thinking, reading, etc. in this space. Outside seating was dreamy and romantic. The inside is a dream. The staff were so easy going and happy to serve their community. Such a fabulous time!

Wonderful destination for a cycling tour - steaming hot coffee, healthy and delectable sandwiches, huge and tasty cookies galore! Outdoor lawn seating with shaded picnic tables and lawn chairs. And to top it off, the host brought us out a complimentary bowl of their famous bread pudding - maple syrup and ice cream included!!

Great food, friendly hosts and a remarkable, restored venue. Well worth a visit!

Why can't I give this place 6 stars!?! What an amazing place to have lunch...great food in a beautifully restored old hotel! Super service by the friendly proprietors themselves.

What a treasure of a spot to run into! With such kind staff and delicious food! We stopped here after a camping adventure at Puzzle Lake and enjoyed a variety of their salads with their house specialty drinks! Everything was so very delicious I look forward to stopping there again!

Delicious homemade meals and sandwiches - we were only here for lunch (cauliflower soup & sandwiches) but if we'd been around for supper, the special was $5 pot pie! There's a special meal deal every night they are open! Love this cafe!

Great service, awesome outdoor seating.

Wow, what a gem. Courteous, engaging and hospitable owners and staff. Fabulous array of coffee, cool drinks, fresh baked treats and meals (lunch/dinner to go) ready for pickup first thing in the morning. Get there early to get your slice of the pie/cake! Also a fine dinner feature (with veggie options) several days a week. We went back in the evening to find karaoke and pizza service in full swing. And, a local farmer selling fresh veg, flowers and farm products in the parking lot.

Wonderful hotel, still under renovation and upgrades, but the Cafe is great! Friendly owners, excellent quality baked goods, made on site.

We had the most beautiful experience here! A must visit when in Tamworth!
