VINNIES SOUTH INDIAN

Review for ONAM SADYA event by Vinnies South Indian in Selkirk. This was my second experience trying their food and just like the first time, we loved every bit of it.

The service:
The hosts were very warm and welcoming. We were immediately seated and then served. They explained the history of the Onam festival and each dish and its significance. During the dinner, they kept checking on us if we needed refills for anything. They were more than happy to answer any queries we had.

The Food:
The food was absolutely scrumptious. Everything including the pickles was house-made. Lots of vegetarian options and everything tasted unique and delicious. Some of my favourite items were :
Karela chips, pineapple curry, mango curry, ginger yogurt, cucumber yogurt, green beans, plantain curry, the house-made pickles and chutney, rasam, yogurt drink, and the desserts.

The verdict:
We loved it and will go back again.

Great lunch buffet. Lots of variety of South Indian tastes and flavours. The chicken legs are amazing. Recommended. You can order naan and a few special treats. The owners are friendly and helpful. Great Selkirk hospitality.

Loved the food & staff was so patient with us. Each menu item was well explained to us & Rasa Vadda is now one of my favourites. Will definitely recommend & go back there. Keep up the great work!!

Wonderful restaurant run by wonderful people. I would recommend the butter chicken, the chicken vindaloo, and trying a very unique experience, the Thali. We have found the food here very different than the northern Indian food found in most restaurants in Winnipeg. Just keep that in mind and be up for an adventure. We have found some new flavours and that is a bit of a rarity for us. We look forward to continuing to explore their menu

Went to Vinnies for Dine In today. Went through all the proper vaccine protocols with no issues. Management was amazing, and really made you feel happy to be there. Gave us complimentary food for their restaurant anniversary, and it was a great touch. The food was amazing. Probably the best food I have ate in the longest time. If you haven’t been here, I say go right now. If you’re from the city of Winnipeg, take the trip out you WILL NOT be dissapointed.

Bought the Sadhya special today and OMG!!!!! It was delicious!! Reminded me of the traditional meal served during Cavadee festival (Tamil festival). I definitely recommend it! I shared it with my friends and they tasted everything and loved it too. Keep it up with the authenticity and good cooking Vinnies South Indian! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Tons of vegan food options 🌱💚🌱! The staff are super friendly and very appreciative! I will definitely be a repeat customer :) So far my favorite is the Vada Pav dish, soooo tasty. I am very excited to try more!

I absolutely love their food. For their non-vegetarian options try their butter chicken, goat meat biryani, beef dishes! For vegetarian options I love all their soups, salads, pickles, dosas, sambhar, coconut curries! Vegan options are also available! Come try it! You will not be disappointed❤

Very good and very spicy food,would of been hired 3 yrs ago but manegar and job was located in Winnipeg at the time...There is a section of food from the Caribbean,next time I'll try Curry Goat 🐐...

My mom and I have order Vinnies Hot Foods WFPB meals weekly and they are delicious and they are very tasty as well as affordable. We have been here before as well and have had there food and it is delicious i highly Recommend it.
