OUTSTANDING! NOT ONE THING COULD BE BETTER about The Skater's Edge. Perfection of fitting: the knowledge Claire possesses in assessment of footshape, length, tilt and comfort with performance in mind....impecable. The owner was on site and both she and Claire are friendly, kind, professional and memorable. As I walked in for my daughter's $40 fitting I said, " honey I hope this is a nice experience. " It WAS WONDEROUS!

Claire is the best, I feel very confident in her ice skating expertise. We love our skates from Skater's Edge and highly recommend this business for any skater :)

I recently returned to skating after taking a substantial amount of time off. I went to Skater's Edge, because that is where I used to go for skates, sharpening's etc. They are the only local establishment that specializes in figure skates. I had no idea the former owners retired, and Claire had taken over. We spoke briefly, and I set up an appointment for a fitting. Being a little older, I was interested in dance. Too old to jump. Claire listened to my needs, and gave me a number of options to try. After spending a considerable amount of time with me, we had the boot and blade combination that we thought would work best for me. Once everything came in, Claire took the time to get the blades mounted for me ( she landed up moving the blade on the left skate a little more to the outside than would normally be expected ), and figuring out the hollow that would allow me to be comfortable with the edging that dance requires. I could not be happier with the results. They are literally the most comfortable skates that I have ever owned. With my basics back, I am working on patterns and loving the sport again. I would be remiss if I did not mention that Claire did the exact same thing for my wife when she purchased her new new skates. We now have a skate tech that we trust to sharpen and work on our skates. No need to take a chance going to one of the hockey stores, or rink pro shops and hoping the sharpening turns out the way you want it to. Claire's sharpening's are as consistent as I have ever had. I really can't say enough about the service Skater's Edge provides.

I couldn't be happier with my experience at The Skater's Edge! After getting back into skating as an adult I realized I needed some better skates than what I was currently using. Claire was so friendly and thorough during my skate fitting. She took the time to answer my questions and talk through the different brands, boot options, blades etc. It's been about a week since getting my skates and I have felt a huge improvement in my skating and comfort! I've had ill-fitting skates before and am thrilled that I can finally skate without my feet killing me. Thank you!!

I had inserts put in my skate boots and they fit SO much better. Claire is great at boot fit, advice, and excellent quality products. A friend and I traveled 3.5 hours to her store and I highly recommend anyone do the same. It is well worth the time investment. My friend and I both have fit issues so had a Zoom call with Patti, the writer for the "Skater's Edge Corner," in Skating Magazine. It was fantastic.
I purchased gloves with special tips so you can use your phone or I-Pad on the ice without taking off your gloves. Even though we didn't purchase a dress they have a wonderful selection in various sizes.
As a former Ski Instructor I had professional inserts and fitting for my ski boots which greatly impacted my skiing ability. So I knew the value of custom boot fit and I traveled 7 hours for that fitting!
Claire and Dawn can't do enough for you every step of the way. Great communications via email before and after the trip. Since I have a small boot the blades had to ordered but Claire did the initial tuning and shipped them to me a very low cost with no markup. I can't say enough superlatives about this place other than GO.

At 24 years old, I was fitted for my first pair of skates. Claire made this a wonderful experience. She was able to answer all my questions and was very kind throughout the whole fitting process. I went to skaters edge as a recreational skater with very limited knowledge of skates and fit, how they should fit versus how I want them to fit and with Claire's help and expertise. I was able to find the most amazing pair of skates I have ever put on my feet. I am so excited to try them on, and go skating. Claire gave me 110% throughout the entire appointment. Made sure that I felt comfortable. Made sure that my skates felt correct on my feet and that to me made all the difference when picking out ice skates. Yes, I'm a recreational skater. Yes I go to outdoor ranks and a hang out in the New York Buffalo area. But if you need skates and you need expertise, go to skaters edge. Ask for Claire. She will give you 110% every single time

The Skaters Edge figure skating store was worth every minute of our 5 hour round trip ride from Oswego to get my daughter the perfect skates for her feet, as well as really cool blade guards and a cute Kiss and Cry bag. It’s locally owned by a mother and daughter in Williamsville NY just outside of downtown Buffalo. Claire was a complete and extremely knowledgeable owner that gave my daughter an hour an a half of undivided attention until she found my daughter the perfect pair of skates. It’s next to impossible to get that kind of customer service anymore, but they definitely give it to you there. I was very impressed. There prices are excellent, and even tho it’s a small store, it’s choke full of everything a skater would need, and if it’s not in stock they will order it for you. Claire is a former figure skater and really knows her stuff. They have skates from the very beginner to the most advanced. I HIGHLY recommend
The Skaters Edge for all your figure skating needs. It’s very hard to figure bud these stores in NY, but it’s well worth the trip out there and when she’s ready for more advanced skates, we will return for them there. Thanks Claire :-)

Claire is so kind and attentive! She is careful to schedule plenty of time for each skater, so that I can ask a million questions! She’s thoughtful even in her responses to follow up questions and seems to really care about my son’s development in the sport. We’ll only buy and maintain our skates here!

I ice skate for recreation, but wanted to get my own pair of skates after taking lessons. I was blown away by the attention to detail and fit I received at my fitting appointment. The price of everything was very reasonable and the service, support, and information I received was over the top wonderful. I can’t recommend this place enough!

I had issues with other local skate shops not sharpening correctly, or not having the right hollow for my hockey skates; until I came here. Claire does a truly amazing job on them, and I couldn't be happier. Her attention to detail is second to none, and she sure knows her way around the machinery. Also, when I bought new skates in February, she heat molded them and they feel awesome! I will always bring my skates here first!

Claire and Dawn are my go-to people for anything skate related. Not only are they professional, but also funny, kind, so down-to-earth, and you're bound to leave knowing something to better your skills and grace for ice skating. So happy to have met them in Buffalo; it'll be hard to find someplace quite like this!

Took my 15 year old, autistic granddaughter there, yesterday to buy her first pair of ice skates. She moved up here, with me, from Kentucky. Claire helped us and I’ve never been more impressed and satisfied as I was with her meticulous, patient and kind assistance. We won’t go anywhere else. Thank you Claire for making Emily’s experience so special.

The owners were wonderful. We came in from out of state and so needed to buy off the shelf instead of waiting for a special order. I explained that my kids had just started lessons this year. The owner immediately searched the used and sale stock for their sizes. She never tried to up sell us. She also gave excellent advice on proper care.

The kids' instructor was very pleased with their skates. She said my daughter's were a good quality student skate, and my son 's were what she recommended for her competitive skaters. She couldn't believe they were used. She was even more impressed with the price. We paid less than half combined than what we would have for comparable new skates here in Chicago.

We just stopped in on our way back to Binghamton. My daughter is a fairly new skater and we wanted to get her her own new pair. They were so professional and fit her with a great pair of reasonably priced skates. They even helped me find a good quality used pair for myself. We'll definitely visit again!

This is the definitive shop for figure skaters. Recently sold to new owners, the absolute GOBS of knowledge and goodwill possessed by the sellers are still available to the buyers: When last I walked in to pick up my daughter's skates, it was the sellers manning the store! Flashback!

Excellent mother and daughter team running the store. My daughter is a novice skater. They spent an hour or more sizing her skates making sure they were a perfect fit.

Skater's Edge is absolutely the best. They are very attentive to your needs and carry quality products at reasonable rates. Highly recommended!
