This amazing tour is both a cultural experience and a naturalistic one. Our guide, Latisha, told us interesting stories about the Kwakwa̱ka̱ʼwakw people, their spirituality and their strong connection with nature. Our captain was AJ, the best skipper ever! We saw two grizzlies (a big male and a female) in two different spots and the female swam parallel to our boat, what a special moment! We spent quite a while watching her feed and enjoy a bath. We also spotted a black bear, orcas (!!!), humpbacks, lots of various birds (among them lots of bald eagles) and our day was simply perfect.
The lunch was tasty, accompanied by Latisha’s amazing stories about her people, and overall our experience was definitely a 10 out of 10.

This review is for 2 consecutive years . Most of these photos are taken with an iPhone.

I did this tour last year with my youngest daughter, and this year with my partner . If that first sentence says anything, it means we absolutely had an incredible experience. ( both times )
*Last year 2022 we saw Humpbacks ( Breach & tale slap ) Sea Lions, Sea Otters , Porpoises, Orcas , Grizzly Bears , many Eagles and bird species.

*This year 2023 we saw Humpbacks, Sea Lions, Sea Otters , Grizzly Bears, Black Bears, Porpoises , many Eagles and bird species… AND SEA WOVLES !

We were very fortunate to have Owner Mike Willie , founder of Sea Wolf Adventures , and Captain Thomas , both members of Kwikwasut’inuxw Haxwa’mis First Nation, aboard our tour boat out of Port Hardy the first day. They both shared extensive cultural knowledge and ancient traditions of the areas First Nations people, which we all found to be the highlight of our tour(s).

Day two, out of Port McNeill , for the second time we were very lucky to have Captain Alan and Tour guide extraordinaire Brennan aboard. These two are like Peanut butter and jam ! Both grew up in the area and have extensive knowledge of the many islands , landscapes , cultural and ancient traditions . They even sung a traditional song aboard the boat while we were all having lunch.

Thank you so much again Sea Wolf Adventures and all your amazing members, for another absolutely incredible experience like no other .
See you again next year !
Definitely a 5⭐ out of 5⭐

Our experience with Sea Wolf was amazing! Our guide, Ghana (not sure on spelling), and our driver, Sherry, were very knowledgeable, friendly, and approachable. Not only did we see Grizzlies and Black Bears, but Orcas, and Humpbacks as well. Besides the wildlife, the indigenous aspect of our tour was incredible! We learned so much about the First Nations history in the area, and our tour of the U’mista Cultural Centre with our guide was a great experience. Sherry and Ghana were super fun people, and always catered to the group. Everyone on the tour had such a fun time, and we laughed almost all day.

Harry was amazing! A great story teller, a wealth of information and really funny.
Our tour was amazing! We saw a grizzly mama and cub, a humpback and calf, also SEVEN orcas!! One of which was a little baby!
The company is professional, helpful staff and the boat was really comfortable.
We will definitely do this tour again!

My family and I had the best trip with Sea Wolf. I had chosen Sea Wolf because it was a First Nations owned and run business.

Thanks Steven for bring a great guide!

He was charismatic, patient, and really respected the animals. He got us close without disturbing the animals. He also went the extra mile so a few of us could wait to get the shots we wanted. Not only did we see grizzlies but we also saw humpback whales and sea lions!

Steven also shared information about the Indigenous culture in the area. It was great to get a different perspective of the area which I appreciated.

For guests, bring a zoom camera to get detailed shots! Your phone camera can get close but you will be sad if you can't get take the view your eye sees.

The only constructive criticism is to remember to give binoculars early!

The day started at 6:30am with a quick and efficient check in process. Then, we were a group of 7 (+2 crew) sailing out in their beautiful, clean boat all day, exploring the coasts, coves and inlets up to around Glendale Cove. The day ended at 5 and it felt like time flew. We saw 7 grizzlies, humpbacks, orcas, dolphins, some deer and an eagle. Food was great - very healthy and full of fresh ingredients. We got to view the animals from the back and the front of the boat, as well as from a zodiac. It was just the perfect day - and Julie, Stephen and Sherry were just amazing and friendly. Absolute wonderful experience!

What an incredible experience. Sherry and Mayumi were amazing guides. It was such a privilege to be in place that is virtually untouched. We saw a mother Grizzly and her two cubs, a black bear, an Orca, humpbacks and several eagles. We were both humbled by nature and learned so much about the indigenous culture and heritage. If you are ever on Vancouver Island, consider making the trip North and taking a tour with Sea Wolf. You won't regret it.

I feel so privileged to have visited the region with Sea Wolf Adventure. Steven, the guide, was authentic and really shared his passion for the wildlife and nature of this region.
Maybe one of the best wildlife tour I’ve ever done with gorgeous views on the mountains.
From the zodiac we spotted countless grizzly bears within a reasonable distance. On our back, we did several stops to observe the humpback whales, sea lions and even orcas.
Cherry on the cake, ... we also watched the dolphins playing around.

Such an amazing trip!! Highly recommended to anyone who loves wildlife. Our guide and captain were amazing, friendly and fun to be around. Our guide taught us all about the First Nation's groups that originated in this area and the history and culture. It was an amazing day and we were able to see everything we wanted. They can accommodate gluten and dairy free diets too.

We spent the entire day with Sea Wolf Adventures. The weather was amazing and Sherry and Teddy were both fantastic hosts!

We spent the entire day on the ocean - 9 hours! Their boat was amazing, we had a wonderful lunch, and saw grizzly bears, a sea lion, and 4 humpback whales.

It was a 5 star day - would definitely recommend Sea Wolf Adventures!

One of the best all around experiences I have ever had. Our guides Sherry and Mike were fantastic in not just showing us the stunning local wildlife but also allowing us to experience their culture first hand.

Highly recommend booking a tour with Sea Wolf, a great company run by amazing people!

One of the most life changing experiences to be on the grizzly and marine life tour. Alan the Skipper and Danielle were amazing tour guides and Teddy was such a bright shining light. I miss this group and can't stop thinking about the trip every minute since I left the boat.

Had a spectacular day with Captain Cherie and Danni. A tasty breakfast and lunch was provided. We saw grizzly bears, white sided pacific dolphins and a humpback whale feeding. We felt very privileged to be able to learn about Cherie and Danni's people and their strong connection to country.

Huge thank you to the crew today.
Not only knowledgeable about the animals we seen, but also on the history of the people from the nation.
Looking forward to our next adventure next summer

We were truly fortunate on our trip with Sea Wolf Adventures. Our guide knew the place like proverbial "back of his hand", and despite the bizarre haze from the wildfires in the US, we got to see just about every creature on a tick list. The history of the First Nations is intertwined with the natural world here and we were privy to learn just a little bit from someone who really knows. Thank you so very much.
