George and his team were a true delight to work with. We have our house located in Ottawa and when we were shopping around for eggress windows, many of the companies either had months of delay or could only do partial work. Some said they could deliver the windows but not the actual installation part, others were able to do the install but had no windows, it was a total headache. When I reached out to Global Improvement Solutions they were the one stop shop that could do it all and in a timely manner, it didn't matter that they are located in Toronto. They took our project from Ottawa with true professionalism and transparency. They were helpful throughout the whole process and even got in contact with our designer to make sure drawings and install was according to city bylaw and code. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and truly admire the work ethic of these guys. They came down from Toronto all the way to Orleans in one day and installed the 3 windows and the main one being an eggress and then headed back home right after. Install and crew worked great and windows look amazing. The amount of light coming in the basement now is a total game changer. Hope to be able to work with them again and wouldn't go with anyone else. Best in the business!!!

After receiving 9 quotes from reputable companies all with good reviews and all with multiple reviews I choose GIS to install 4 new windows in my basement. It was a big job requiring a city permit as the foundation required to be cut down to make way for 3 egress sized windows (overkill but why not) and 1 fire escape size window as per the city permit. Our salesperson George visited our home, reviewed our existing 10” x 30” 1979 slider windows and came up with a plan. George is very courteous and we were impressed by his level of knowledge. George explained the pros and cons of different types of windows, styles, features and the types of glass. George offered his suggestion however he was never pushy or forceful for a decision or money, and based on his recommendation and the information from 9 other companies we found the right windows for our purpose. George thought of things we hadn't considered and things that our other salespeople hadn't mentioned. George was also always available and accessible to patiently answer our questions, and assist with changes and anything else that came up in the time between our contract signing and installation.
The installation was clean efficient and seamless.
Day 1 excavation and site prep they took care to cover everything and protect all surfaces around the windows.
Day 2, installed new window lintels, installed new window headers, cut the foundation, installed the windows, and built 4 window wells that drained right down to the weeping tile.
The building inspector and fire inspector were both very happy with the workmanship and gave me my stamp of approval.
Overall, we chose GIS as we liked Georges plan and suggestions, we liked the quality and warranty the company offered, and their price offered excellent value. We would definitely recommend them.

George and his crew installed 2 new windows, made 2 existing windows bigger (total of 3 casement egress windows) and 5 window wells (including 1 for an existing window) in our basement in one day. Their crew was very professional and we were impressed by the quality of their work, the material and finishing touches. Uri (the crew lead) was patient explaining what was going on anytime we had a question. I was very happy they took time and tested the drain pipe for each window well after installation. As a result, I had GIS set up an escape window in my lower-level flat. It was necessary to repair some bricks, widen the window, and build a new lintel.

We hired Global Improvement Solutions to install an egress window for our basement. We worked with George and he was responsive, very knowledgable and helpful. He guided us on the right direction as to what we need to do before the window installation. He took care of the locating for gas pipes for us, he brought the acquired window with him and he also did the work on time as promised! the end result was clean, proper and up to code! The whole process was really smooth and we would definitely recommend them to anyone!

I was desperately looking for a window installer to change one window in the basement to an egress type. It’s not easy to get a contractor in Niagara region and in GTA. The contract is too small. I was unable to get someone that could complete the job quick. I tried YouTube and found Global Improvement.
George, the sales person answered my call. He came over to take measurements almost immediately and promised completion in 6 weeks.
