From our first meeting, we three executors of our Mother’s estate were impressed with Jillian’s ability as an agent. After Jillian viewed the house, she explained the similarities and differences between Mum’s home and others on the market so we understood a fair market price. She had brought each of us a copy of the documents explaining the sale process and she worked through them with us. Although she had the form to sign ensuring she was the agent, she suggested that we take time to think before committing. She also brought samples of her unique approach to advertising, a postcard featuring the house for sale with a recipe on the back; the card goes out in a mass mailing. Of course, Jillian also uses traditional media listings and she has a storefront on Queen Street.

Upfront, Jillian said that, if we selected to work with her, she would stage the complete house. In fact, at her own expense, she painted, staged, replaced dated light fixtures and even mulched the gardens. The bottom line is that the house sold firm in 7 days, just under the listed price, although it is a smaller model in Canterbury Common and has never been renovated.

A bonus is Jillian’s pleasant, sensitive personality; she understood that selling our Mum’s house was emotionally difficult. As the process proceeded, she kept us informed of showings, gave us feedback, and responded quickly to our questions by e-mail. We are delighted that we chose to work with Jillian.
