Small, but great. They had special scavenger pages to entertain kids as well.

Small museum but jam-packed with information! I love how it didn't just center all the colonizers' stories. It had a lot of information about the different nations that used to live and still live in the area. Also had a nice section about the Japanese fisherfolk who settled in Tofino, and the grave injustices done during and after WW2. For me the museum was just the right size, I was able to read everything and by the time my legs were tired, I was done with all the exhibits. Kudos to those who run the place! I enjoyed this one so much more than the bigger Nanaimo museum :)

Wonderful little local museum! Definitely worth a visit to learn more about the history of the region. Also the museum plans on featuring more of the First Nations culture, which would be great. Would be great to see them get more funding and gift shop items.

A small basement museum, easy to miss, but it was one of my favorite experiences here. Very knowledgeable guy running the place, knew everything about this town and its history, eager to tell captivating stories.

Very cute museum, very interesting to know the information on Tofino's history and the people who made it! Lots of spelling errors on the placards, but otherwise a very awesome visit!

The museum is admission by donation. It is a small space but very nice local history and artifacts.

I wanted to get a sense of the history of not only Tofino, but the surrounding area as well, so this was a little gem I was pleased to find. Everything is curated with care by the locals, so you get a real sense of pride and history. It is quite small and will only take a little time out of your day. I loved seeing all the artifacts! Everything was well documented and I read some great stories about local legends.
This would be a great place to spend part of a rainy afternoon or a quick pop by while out shopping in downtown Tofino.

Community museums like this one are real gems. Take the time to meet the curators, to ask questions, and to take in all the artifacts. One of my favourites is an old beer bottle from a 19th century wreck. It has a very cool label! And some amazing old photos of Tofino as it was!

Lots of promise here for future years and return visits.

Highly recommended.
