We have rented boards from here for the past three summers. We have always had a great experience. The boards and wetsuits were nice. Their covid protocols are tight, which we were happy to see. Cell service isn’t the greatest at the shop so it’s best to connect to the wifi to fill out the request form online. It was the same process last summer so I just copy pasted our form from last year. Couldn’t have been easier! Thanks guys!

Great experience renting here! Cody was super friendly and helpful, even helped us load and secure the boards on the truck for us.

We loved our experience renting surf equipment from Live to Surf. The gear was a good fit and quality. The staff was so helpful and friendly. We would definitely return and recommend them highly! The shop had beautiful things as well :)

We took a lesson. Great! Our first time ever surfing and we really enjoyed and it was a lot of fun. The instructor was friendly, nice and did a good job - we really surfed!!
We would come again if we are in Tofino any time in future.

This was a sweet experience. I was looking for a place to buy our first boards. We don’t have much surfing experience. I’m older bigger guy 47 YOA ish. Son is nimble 16 YOA. Anyhow, staff member “Flow” was super helpful getting us into good equipment at a good price. It was well matched for the surfing conditions. The experience was great. Lots of good tips and things learned from Flow, it was great. Super happy and I would highly recommend stopping here for that experience.

Bought a surfboard and bag. They definitely know their stuff. The board is perfect for the waves in the area!

A huge shout-out to LIVE TO SURF!! They found my lost driver's license, which I didn't even realize I had lost there and was spending my whole month thinking about where I had left it. Their helpfulness saved me big big time, just think about the hassle of filing a lost license claim and getting a new one… Exceptional service and a BIG BIG thank you! 😭😭😭

Can't speak to the shop as a whole but I wandered in recently after contemplating the purchase of a mid length fun board. I was warmly greeted by Jason who patiently and insightfully gave me his thoughts on a board I was interested in. It can be hard sometimes in these spaces to get non-condescending advice and JD delivered. He even went to the length of leashing it up, popping in the fins, laying down some wax and imparting some of his knowledge throughout the process. Very happy with the experience. This guy deserves a raise! Much respect.

Good prices & customer care with the wet suit sizing, and strapping the boards to the car—easy returns, and they hooked us up with some stickers! Also a + close to Tacofino/Ice cream

We booked a surf lesson and had a great time! Frazer was our instructor and we totally enjoyed his friendly demeanor and light hearted approach. He was able to give appropriate instruction for my wife and I who were at different levels of experience surfing and we both had a great session. We would definitely book with them again. The shop also has a good selection of swag and the rental equipment was in good condition.

These guys are great! I broke a fin on my rental board ( not from Live to Surf) and these guys were happy to help me out. Cody found a replacement fin and replaced it on the spot. He didn't even charge me. How great is this shop. The place to go for all your Tofino surfing needs.

I rented gear for the weekend and the process was straightforward and the staff are friendly. Andrew was my instructor for a private surf lesson and was very helpful. He was also very informative and was able to answer any questions I had for him. At the end of the lesson, I felt like I had a strong foundation to progress from.

We rented there November of this year. We had some minor issues with our equipment and we got 2 free rentals for another time! I was out surfing with my 10 yr old daughter and Eddy (one of the instructors) was out giving a lesson to 2 people. My daughter and I were near them so Eddy helped her and gave her some tips even though we weren’t part of a class! Definitely recommend!!

We booked for what turned out to be a gorgeous Saturday afternoon in February. Myself and my two young sons (11& 8) were lucky to have Megan and Rusty as our instructors. They were both great teachers with a fun and capable vibe. I felt perfectly safe and could relax and have fun with the kids during our lesson. Thanks for a great first experience Rusty and Megan!

Our group booked a lesson with Live to Surf. We were not happy with our lesson and instructor but after we shared our concerns the management was very accommodating. They offered us another lesson with the very experienced instructor Gabby and that experience was awesome. We learned a lot, she took pics of us and was very accommodating. I give 5 stars for the staff listening to the client's feedback and really working hard to provide best service possible!

Great surfing experience with very nice instructor. My girlfriend and i never surf before; at the end of the lesson we could gain some joy still know how to surf for a short distance. Instructor was easy-going and fun to talk with. Gear rental with surfing lesson was only $157 for two people for 2hrs (1 instructor/5 students). Definitely give it a try when you are beginners and just wanna try-out for fun!

We were shopping for our own surf boards and wetsuits. So excited to get surfing!! Jason the manager was so helpful when we had picked the wrong one. He gave great advice and helped us pick the best ones for us. Also the staff gave us great information every new surfer should know about boards, leashes, and the best beaches to go to for new surfers. The staff was excellent at helping us pick out our wetsuits and gear. They answered any questions we had. Very friendly and helpful. This is our spot for any surf needs. Great job!!!!

Awesome time! Our instructor was young local named Andrew. Very Experienced. Good Instruction. We wanted to keep the boards until the next day, so he left them with us, and we drove to the shop later and paid and picked up new dry suits!

We had used the Groupon vouchers in the past and found they were a great deal. So this summer we bought a couple more and headed up to Tofino. When we arrived, we were informed that Groupon should not have sold them as the deal had ended. The staff were very accommodating and tried their best to get us the same price as the Groupons. I will admit I was slightly annoyed as I had mentioned we had the Groupon in two prior conversations, but the manager got in touch with me and completely sorted everything out.

So just want to say thanks and hopefully people will continue to support this great local store.

I will also say I will not use Groupon anymore as they caused many issues for this store - book directly if possible everyone!
