Kids section is amazing!!! We found some really sweet gifts for our niece. Lots of activity books and local authors too! The owner/shopkeeper was lovely as well.

I went on my dream trip to Tofino in September of 2023. Found this charming little book shop. Such an impressive selection of books and other items. I LOVE the whole vibe of the shop. This was actually one of my must dos in my planning of my trip. So yes I discovered this lovely little shop in person. But I had found out about it. In doing my trip planning for Tofino.

Rosanna the person I met working behind the counter is lovely. So helpful and kind. On my trip to Tofino I had met many tourists like myself. Also a few who had moved to Tofino. Making it their home. Rosanna is the first person I met who is a local. Born and raised in Tofino. That was great!!!

She was so helpful picking out books and giving suggestions. I really appreciated that.

A quant little book store. With post cards, cards, toys, games and a decent selection of books for the size that it is. Also love the local section by cash. Everything is clean and tidy.

You will find something there for a vacation read.

A book store called Mermaid, that has a cool selection of fiction and nonfiction, and KITES! Totally worth the flight from Hamilton! The girl working there was really nice too!

I always make a point to visit this wee shop when visiting Tofino. They always have a unique selection of books and I always come home with at least one treasure I wouldn't have discovered otherwise.

Really remarkably well-stocked bookshop for those looking for a beach read. They had all the latest publications, and for a small rural bookshop, I was impressed their selection.

Very friendly service! Such a quaint little shop, with a decent selection for its size. It has a really great selection of indigineous related books, as well as water tourism and island tourism. Seemed like a lot of local selection. The shop owner is really well versed in her books and knows her shop. Would recommend 👍

You can smell the books when you walk in this gem of a store. The selection is fabulous and will appeal to almost every literary desire.

Visited this bookstore on a visit to Tofino. Great selection considering its size. Staff member whose name I never got was super helpful. We bought a bunch of books and she gave us a discount on a durable bag as the paper ones to hand ripped. Would definitely visit again when I am lucky enough to visit Tofino again!

Thankful that this little book shop exists in Tofino. They're super friendly/helpful/welcoming and can order in any books you want. They curate a great selection of books from different genres (even poetry, yay!). Love going here.

Sweetest little bookshop, always a good selection of genres, great for when you are stuck inside because of the rain and forgot your book at home. Lots of little games, puzzles and a great selection of kites for the beach. No, you're not going to find every book under the sun, this isn't Amazon. We stop here every time we come to Tofino - shop small!

Great selection for a small shop - I've never walked out empty handed!
Recently used their online ordering: yesterday I read about a book that sounded interesting, went to the Mermaid Tales website, typed the title into their search bar, 2 copies available! Clicked through and was able to easily prepay with my credit card, recieved an email shortly after letting me know the book was ready, stopped into the shop this morning and picked it up. I really recommend taking advantage of this service -
No shipping fees, no waiting for an hour in the post office line, and it's supporting a small business that we love.

Small bookshop with a very impressive selection for the size of the space. The owner was great and is obviously passionate about what she does. I'm not sure when I'll ever be back in Tofino but I'll make this one of my first stops when I am.
