We have a newly constructed home with drainage problems and much needed landscaping.
We called Schlager in late 2021 and 'as promised', an appointment was booked in early spring as soon as the snow melted. Peter came to quote, understood our vision and came through with a fair price and start date of early fall.
The entire job was completed in 3 weeks in September 2022. The crew, lead by Jason was a pleasure to have around. The progress around the property was swift and professional. They are a team that truly care about their customers' wants and needs. Their input much appreciated.
We are blown away by our landscaping transformation and the drainage around the house actually works the way it should.
Schlager will be the first people we call for any future projects.

We were finishing an extensive cottage renovation and were looking for a contractor to do some much needed hardscaping. We reached out to Schlager early spring 2022 and shared with them some of our ideas (granite steps, stepping stones and retaining wall). A meeting was setup with Peter at our cottage to review our ideas. He listened and offered recommendations, as well he was very forthcoming that they were extremely busy and the earliest that they could start was fall of 2022. A detailed quote was provided and a time slot was booked.
Fast forward to the fall, Schlager stayed on schedule and showed up in full force to start our project. Kevin and Joe were amazing. These guys take pride in their work, from a well prepared sub-surface to taking the time to cope the stones for the retaining wall, everything was done as if it was their place. Every day they showed up early and well prepared for a full day of work. As well, at the end of the job they left the site clean and tidy, even the machine tracks were raked out and seeded (very impressive). More importantly the final invoice was that of the quote provided back in the spring.
Overall, our experience dealing with Velvet, Teresa, Peter, Kevin and Joe was very positive. This is a company that truly values their clients. Highly recommended and would use again!

Peter and the team redesigned our cottage lakefront this past summer. In addition to adding much needed retaining walls and stone steps, they creatively modified the slope, giving us more room and a patio. We hired Schlager team to build stairs, design a fire pit and top up some gravel areas at our cottage. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the job they did. Jason was amazing to deal with, listens, is attentive no issues with slight changes or tweeks as the job went along. He is very customer focused and driven to do the job right for the customer. We are extremely picky people and the fact that they were so detailed, during and completing the job made it a pleasure for us. The summer student they hired to work named Zack was awesome. Clearly his parents raised him right. He has an excellent work ethic, worked hard the entire time. We needed to use part of our neighbours property to access our back and they left his yard pristine in fact better than it was before! I would not hesitate to have this company do any other jobs for us and will definitely call them next year to top dress our driveway. Schlager came through and completed exactly what we wanted. The entire time was reliable, communicative and genuinely interested in meeting our expectations with our project. They certainly delivered.

We contacted Schlager with a rush request to do some landscaping, to be completed by June 24, 2021, for a special event to be held at our new home in Muskoka. They responded very quickly and came through with flying colors. Peter came out to visit us and discuss various design possibilities. We settled on a particular design and they started within a few days. The crew that did the work were all very friendly and explained what they were doing and why. They finished on time and on budget. Everyone was very pleased including the bride and groom.

We have been building our dream cottage for the last few years and landscaping was the final step. We contacted Peter at Schlager Construction based on a referral from our neighbours as an honest, hard working family business and one that we could trust to get the job done! We met with Peter and discussed our unique needs: how to build a barrier free entry into our cottage based on the principles of universal design “what’s essential for some is beneficial to all”. Peter listened, gave professional insight and opinion, displayed confidence and a friendly positive attitude. In 7 days his crew built a sloped driveway, retaining wall with gardens, a granite slab fire pit area and placed steps, built pathways, layed soil, mulch, and the best part was that the crew left the place SPOTLESS!!! By far in all the years of our project this crew (Jason, Rob, Connor, Braedon, and the friendly delivery guy) was the BEST crew we had the pleasure of working with. A big thumbs up to the Schlager team for the outstanding landscaping project they recently completed at our cottage on Manitouwabing Lake. Everyone we dealt with from Peter, Theresa, Velvet (administration staff) to Jason, Rob, Conner and Joe (equipment operators) were friendly, efficient, prompt and quickly dealt with any small issues we had. The total job (it was an extensive project which included a large granite patio, 3 retaining walls and 2 sets of stone steps ) came in as per the quote we were given. It was nice to deal with true professionals. It was a 5-star experience.

Our yard was a destruction zone and in only a few days the team at Schlager brought structure and beauty to our surroundings. The owner Peter had a clear vision of what was needed for our yard and his hard working team executed it with detail oriented skill. My wife and I were overjoyed with the results. Not only was the work top notch but the price was extremely reasonable as well. In my opinion that's a tough combo to beat!

Just wanted to let everyone know if you need your property regraded for water run off control and those dreaded February thaws, Schlager is the way to go.We unsuccessfully tried doing it ourselves thinking it would save money.
Schlager came and went in a day! Awesome job! Professionally sculpted our driveway with proper drainage pipes under it directing not only the surface run off but the underground water flow.
Have gone through all 4 seasons since with no issues!

Schlager helped us with replacing our existing concrete septic lids and effluent tank with accessible lids. The work was done very quickly and professionally. They were also able to deliver a load of topsoil the same day so we could reseed the area right away. We were very pleased to have the job completed so quickly.
