UP festival

Look this festival definitely isn't cheap and far from perfect, but the location is so awesome and I totally loved the week I spent here. I made a lot of new friends and am definitely coming back.

I do recommend going, but do leave expectations of high standards home. Expect to spend money and things not being perfect. Go in with an open mind and positive attitude and you will have an amazing time. I did. This was my second UP and I'm definitely coming back.

People
Brazilians are awesome to party with, but I can do without the camping chairs. I can get why you'd want to make a bit of a camp somewhere around the dance floor, but the chairs on the actual dance floor creates sections rather than having one massive crowd. I found the vibes at the main floor to be best, but it's also where I spent the majority of the time.

Location
The tropical beach is awesome, but the heat can be a bit much, even in the shade. The main floor had shade but not for the mid/front so for a big part of the day, nobody danced there (some exceptions). I'm glad it got moved to the beach side.

Decoration
Apart from the palm trees, the sand and the ocean I wasn't very impressed with the decorations. The 909 stage looked better than the main floor, in my opinion.

Facilities
The bars have a wide variety of drinks on sale and I found the staff to be friendly and attentive, also the ones walking around. Food options aren't super varied but there's açai, pizza and queso cualho. Could be worse. Toilets could be more clean I guess but at least had toilet paper most of the time. Could be worse too.

Safety & Security
There were dealers around every corner, openly selling with menu signs and tables with everything on display. At the same time I saw sellers of clothes / accessoires get sent away to the pirate market. Seems a bit unfair. Unlike my first time (phone, so no pics from then), this time nothing of mine got stolen.

Amazing experience, beatiful people, magic place and music. I love it!

Surreal! Não dá pra explicar, só sentindo. Um lugar onde todos os julgamentos se desprendem, onde as culturas se misturam, onde as almas se conectam e a natureza, meu Deus, indescritível! Gratidão UP!
