We booked a Private 10N Jaguar Safari and were thrilled with not only the itinerary but the variety of wildlife, professionalism of the employees along the way as well as the excellent safe, comfortable conditions of the vehicles and boats we would use.

Leen was a real gem in the booking process. Her expertise in working with us to negotiate and create an itinerary gave us confidence we had picked the right company for a Pantanal wild life safari. Leen’s patience and explanations through numerous WhatsApp calls was a great start in the planning process. During the safari Leen was also available for support.

We would start with a boat and land safari on the Paraguay river, Taiamã Reserve, move on to a land safari at Piuval Lodge before ending with a boat safari on the Cuiba River at Porto Jofre, staying at the Hotel Pantanal Norte fishing lodge

Our Guide Fernando Frosini is an avid Bird Watching enthusiast who could locate and identify hundreds of different birds which was particularly helpful in the Taiamã Reserve which is a noted bird lovers paradise where we would also see tapirs, otters, and a jaguar among other wild life.

Porto Jofre is all about the jaguars. We would sight Jaguars on each morning and afternoon game drive, and many times we would encounter multiple and very excellent photographic jaguar opportunities on game drives including a number of mother and cub sightings!

Just finished a 10 night Jaguar Safari with PJS. What a brilliant experience!
We had Noam as our guide, an encyclopaedia of knowledge and excellent guide. Through observation and speaking with other groups we definitely got the impression we were having more, and higher quality, animal encounters than the norm.
Meet the PJS owners while on Safari, , Leen is lovely and Andre is high energy and a lot of fun, they run a great team.
The lodges we stayed at were of a good standard, food very tasty and locations amazing. The Safari itself is reasonably hardcore with early starts and long days but the animal encounters exceeded our hopes and it’s well worth it.

Spectacular 10 day Jaguar Safari! Leen (one of the owners of Pantanal Jaguar Safaris) worked with us to put together a perfectly tailored private safari for my wife and I. We visited 4 lodges over 10 days to experience various aspects of the Pantanal region and allow us to see a great variety of species and lots and lots of jaguars!

Our guide, Fernando, was simply outstanding. From the moment he picked us up at our hotel and headed out on a long drive into the Pantanal, we were immediately comfortable with his personality and his excellent English. Over the next 10 days we spent countless hours with Fernando in trucks, on boats, walking safaris and eating our meals together - he was a pleasure throughout - very knowledgeable, very funny and clearly very well known and very well liked at each lodge we arrived at which made us feel especially welcome by the staff at each location (which is a huge plus).

The food and hospitality at our 2 primary lodges, Baiazinha Hotel in Taiama Reserve and the Hotel Porto Jofre on the Cuiaba River was so much better than expected, The food served at each meal was outstanding - lots of choices and wonderful flavors on every offering and it never repeated itself - always something new and delicious to try at each meal. Plus, the staff at each of these places were extremely welcoming and helpful - a true joy to stay at each of these places.

The Araras Lodge, where we stayed for 2 nights was the only disappointment. Its an old ranch converted into a lodge and while the physical accommodations were very nice (clean and comfortable), the property that you did the overland safari on was extremely weak as far as available wildlife and the food served was definitely sub-par...the choices were limited at each meal and the food presentation and taste simply weren't very good. The only saving grace was the staff as they were absolutely wonderful, so it seems that hiring a new chef could improve this lodge dramatically.

Nonetheless, the overall trip was absolutely superb and I would do it again without hesitation. Many thanks to Leen for all her efforts in putting this together with us - she is very responsive and helpful with any and all questions you may have along the way which is very comforting. Then it was all Fernando who put the trip over the top - a real pleasure to spend 10 days with and a new Brazilian friend!

We just returned from our 5 night tour with Pantanal Jaguar Safaris and it was an amazing experience! We saw 7 jaguars, several groups of giant otters, lots of caiman, and an abundance and diversity of birds I’ve never seen anywhere else in the world. Our first two night were at The Santa Tereza lodge where we did several boat safaris, a night vehicle safari, and some nature walks. Highlights included two ocelot (which are baited to appear for people in a hide, not ideal but probably the only way you’ll ever see one), a tapir, caiman, and tons a birds. Our last three nights were at Porto Jofre where we did two boat safaris a day which lasted between 3-5 hours each. We were very unlucky with the weather when we arrived in Porto Jofre with temperatures in the upper 50s F, overcast and frequent rain (not typical for mid June). We didn’t bring good clothes for this so the boat safaris were pretty cold when moving fast. However, the hotel provided blankets which helped a lot the last few safaris. We didn’t see any jaguars our first 3 outings which made us nervous for the remainder of the trip but we then saw 1 on the 4th tour and 6 on the last day as the weather improved.
Our guide Tony was great as was everyone who worked at both lodges. Food was amazing through the trip with fresh fish available at every lunch and dinner along with local beef and sides. I highly recommend visiting the Pantanal with this company!

Memories of a lifetime. Saw 29 jaguars and many more animals in just 4 days. One of the best tour companies. Andrea & Leen care deeply about the nature & animals and organized a dream adventure for us at short notice, accommodating our ideas and wishes. We were particularly lucky with out guide, Mario, who made all the difference. He is a very experienced wild life photographer & conservationist, incredibly passionate about the riches this paradise has to offer. Couldn’t recommend him more. Last but not least, we also lucked out with our boat driver, Edson, who was an absolute legend, respectful of the wildlife but always thinking ahead and getting us in the best positions.

Had a great trip to the Pantanal with the Pantanal Jaguar Safaris. We had a great tour guide and saw so many amazing animals, including 22 different sightings of jaguars. We learned a lot about the area and animals with our tour guide and boat driver. Honestly wished we could have just done the time @ Porto Jofre. We are not that into birds. We started first in Porto Jofre and then finished at the Porto Alegre Lodge, which was kind of anticlimactic after seeing all the jaguars and river animals. Our guide spoke great English and I know they have other guides that speak a variety of languages. I would definitely recommend them!

We were on a safari in Pantanal with Pantanal Jaguar Safari in Sept, 2023. We had a fantastic trip - everything went perfect and couldn't have asked for more. We saw many Jaguars including a hunt and miss!
We booked through Leen. Leen was great to interface with, thorough and provided prompt responses.
Noam was our guide.. Noam knew of all the birds, animals and their behavior. Noam was so committed and did very best to provide the best experience possible. Thanks Noam.
Tatu was our boat driver at the Porte Jofre. Tatu is a very experienced driver and knew the behavior of Jaguars and was able to give us the best view possible while caring for our safety.
Overall, we would highly recommend Pantanal Jaguar Safari if you want to visit and experience Pantanal!

I had an utterly fantastic experience on a 10-day tour organised by Pantanal Jaguar Safaris which I will forever hold dear. We spent 7 days in the Pantanal and 3 days in Chapada dos Guimarães. Lots of wildlife seen and photographed including 8 individual jaguars. The itinerary was well-planned, the accommodations chosen were really hospitable and everything went according to plan. Individual thanks to Leen who was really patient and helpful as we communicated for the last four years and our guide Marcos who is so knowledgeable, a great spotter but also very friendly. Thank you!
