Pedra Furada

July, 2023. We took the public free Jardinera/bus from the parking lot to the front of the hike.

There are multiple paths made of a mix of sand and grass. You can ware flipflops or tennis, but once you get to the beach definitely flipflops. You can also hire a horse/carriage to bring you up.

The walk is about 1 hour and the first 45, min is easy to moderate the last 15 you have a descent with steep steps and loose rock.

I recommend start walking around 4:15 pm and bringing a flashlight for the way back if you don't want to walk in the dark.

There will be a line of people in front of the rock waiting for photos. You could join the queue or position yourself a bit farther and see the whole rock with the sunset.

The experience is worth it, the wiews are incredible.

A little bit of a walk but it’s good exercise and the view along the way makes every minute of it worth it! Make sure to budget a few extra minutes if you want a picture before the sunset - there’s a bit of a line for the photo.

Its an hour walk back and forth with a comfortable pace from the center. I left early in the morning at 06.30 i found this to be very rewarding cos it wasn't hot and there wasn't a lot of people there at that time of the day.

the walk offers you a view of a different kind of vegetation - more green which means you get to see some cows and donkeys on the way. Its a cool tour to do whilst in Jeri

Beautiful place, beautiful views !

Beautiful rock formation. Can be a little hard for some people to get there (I've reached through a landslide), however you won't need a guide, since there is almost a group of people going there anytime. It is also a great place for pictures.

Recommend. Walk along the beach towards the rock. If you don't mind a lot of people you might consider going in the afternoon to see the sunset. Take a flash light with you because the walk is about 1.5h one way, so the way back you'll walk in the dark. Otherwise I would suggest to go earlier in the morning to make your way back before noon to avoid the hot sun.

Nice place to visit in Jeri. I don't recommend to go there walking if you're sedentary, have any mobility problems, over 65, etc.
If you want to go there walking, I recommend by the beach when is low tide.
Good place to take photos but a little bit difficult to go there. Use good shoes and bring some water.

Amazing view from the top of the hill. Great place to take pictures. Take a carriage from Jericoacoara instead of the 30 minute walk. You still have to go down and up the hill on foot.

There is a queue, but is super worth it the view.
Recommend to go walking, from the top tô have a nice view.

In November 1998 I was landed at this spot by helicopter to set up a camera for filming scenes for "The Spirit of Carnauba: A Son's Memoir" produced by Rosalini Film Productions for the SC Johnson Company of Racine, WI.

Quite a magical spot indeed.

Nice little walk from Jeri which takes about 30 min. Avoid high tide as you can not take good pictures right in front of the pedra furada
