I think this pousada is one of te best. You have the big garden in the middle of and you can have fruits from. It is very quiet and the owners are kind.

These people are not kind, and I would say downright mean and unethical. This is a bit lengthy but worth reading if you are considering staying there and 100% true. I booked to stay there 6 weeks June-July 2018 and when I arrived I paid up front in cash. The beds were so uncomfortable that I was up each and every night crying I was in so much pain. I am not exaggerating. And I had even brought a foam filled air mattress with me but nothing helped. It was worse than if I had been sleeping on the ground. You could not even get an extra pillow or blanket. One night, the only other person staying there, a woman from Switzerland, went into one of the other unoccupied rooms to borrow a couple extra pillows to try to make me more comfortable. I was going on nearly 3 weeks of no sleep and instead of healing I was becoming worse and worse. In the morning we explained to the pousada owner that we borrowed those pillows, and could I have a couple extra pillows to use, and she went absolutely CRAZY!!!!! She started screaming and grabbing my things and beating them against on one of the posts outside. We stood there in complete horror with our mouths open. What sort of a place is this that you can't get a blanket if you're cold or you're subjected to this sort of abuse for asking for a couple extra pillows? Well, we were about to find out. She told me I has to buy extra pillows and demanded I give her husband 50 Reais which I did to get me two of the worst pillows I've ever seen in my life. I feel like they were used. Her treatment of us and everyone else who arrived was mean, very mean, unless they were Brazilian. In the next couple days a woman from Austria came, three ladies from France, two were traveling together, one was alone, and there was me and the Swiss woman. So there were now 6 of us women. All of us had paid up front except for the Swiss woman. I had been feeling very strongly that I needed to leave, not only could I not sleep, but her treatment towards all of us ladies was appalling and made for a very uncomfortable situation, and to top it off, she and her husband would spy on us. Long story short the Austrian woman and I did leave. The Austrian woman was freezing at night and couldn't get a blanket. The pousada owner would not give us our money back for the unused time and to our complete shock, the following day, after the three French ladies all had surgery at the Casa and were suppose to be resting, the pousada owner physically assaulted them and began throwing their things out. These were three of the nicest, kindest, sweetest woman you could ever hope to meet and here they were in Brazil being assaulted. She was hitting them and pulling on them and screaming in Portuguese. Calling the police is not an option when you don't speak Portuguese. They gathered their things frantically and left also asking for their money for the unused portion of their stay and she told them NO. No one understood what was going on or how she could do this. Doesn't anyone know what she does to people? So for 5 of us ladies that were forced to leave, she kept all of our money. The Swiss woman who had not paid in advance was allowed to stay two more days before she had to leave as the owner asked humbly if she intended to pay. I also wonder had we been men, if this would have happened. I think not. This woman is CRAZY and this is not a place where you will find comfort and healing. There are MANY much better places to stay where you won't get assaulted, have your things thrown on the ground or beaten against a post, be spied on, where you can get an extra blanket if you're cold or a pillow if you're in pain, places where the owners truly care and are kind and where they won't cheat you out of your money. Find one of those places and stay away from here.
