Varna International Airport (LBWN-VAR)

Varna airport is small, but active. In fact I saw more planes that expected to see by sidles if the airport. You will get to the terminal by bus or walking up there. Passport control was quick and taxi lines are outside of the terminal, walking 100 feet or so. I paid 40 Lev with code BGN to get to Golden sand area, equal to almost 22$. Coming back from hotel was 70 Lev early morning ( looks like getting taxi from hotel is more expensive).
There are a few cafes in the terminal.
Coming back again the process was a breeze and there was no long lines.
Bathrooms were getting cleaned well. The signage was good.
Common destinations are Sofia, Istanbul and Vienna. There maybe direct charter destination that operate seasonally.
For the size I think service was good.👍🏼

I am very positively surprised by this regional airport. Great infrastructure, perfectly organised security control, legal passport control, automatic gates allow the scanning not only of biometric passports but also ID cards, which is not possible even at airports such as Frankfurt or Warsaw. Shops, cafés, McDonald's and kiosks provide everything a traveller needs after passing through passport control. A great asset is the business lounge, unfortunately only available for Gold Miles and More cards. Very nice, uniform attire of the staff in the terminal. Small but very lively airport. It has all the facilities you may need. Nice tax-free zone and bars after security. Automatic EU passport gates make passport control a breeze.

Small airport but there is everything you might need. It is clean, organized and modern. By the time we had our flight 22h30, all the shops were open - very pleasantly surprised because other bigger airports like the ones in France are "dead" by 20h30.

Small airport with all desired facilities. Restaurants, tax free zone, bars, outdoor bar behind check-in, toilets, resting areas with electric outlets, and a kids' play zone.

Easy airport, good wifi

Small but highly efficient airport. Quick check-in process and fast security clearing. Duty free for EU passengers is limited though. Outside terrace, nice lounge if you have Priority Pass Access.

A small, clean and very well maintained airport. Not much waiting for check-in or security - if you're traveling with hand luggage only you need no more than an hour and if you have luggage to drop off you need two.
Public transport is available to/from the city centre or Golden sands via bus №409 (costs BGN 2 / €1 to the city centre).
Taxis are available as well in front of the terminal (costs around BGN 15 / €7-8 to the city centre).

As usual, it was an easy, organised & safe passage from start to finish.

It was expensive cos it was EU prices, if Bulgaria goes in then Bulgarian people would NOT be able to afford to live. Best they stay exactly where they are. Good airport

If you know the place, then the second time it's more easy, it's not schengen en people forget that. It has everything, and super up to date scanners... In 5 min I passed everything. Hold you're boarding pass and ID ready... Enjoy...

Such a nice airport, it's not too busy either!

It was very well organized for a small airport. Problems are from rude security check people, and customs officers being too bossy.

Perfect airport with nice location next to Varna, if you take off on the direction to Black sea you will see very beautiful views (Most of them in the summer) you can always go there with WizzAir which now make 21/22 routes to Varna.

Really nice clean and easy for passengers. The staff is great and even the police service is on high quality. It was a pleasure to travel from here.
