This is the restaurant you want. I haven’t written a review in ages, but felt inspired by my meal tonight.

If you’re looking for delicious, authentic, straightforward, great-value Bulgarian cuisine, this is your spot! The owner is passionate and rightfully proud of his work. It’s the type of confidence you want from a chef, where the advice is contributive AND truthful, as opposed to other places we’ve tried here where they heavily push certain dishes most likely due to inventory. The owner spent time carefully explaining each item on the menu, not only to us but to each table throughout the night. This establishment takes pride in their work, and it shows in every action, but moreover every bite!

The speciality dish is a guaranteed new experience, and I highly recommend it. The flavors were loud but ceremonious, rich but balanced. The bread is also a must. We accompanied it with the cheese and pate which were incredible as well.

We even got dessert! And we’re not typically dessert people! The homemade cake is the move, as I am still dreaming about it as I write this review. Give it a go!

The owner of this restaurant cannot do any more to make you feel welcome! He's so attentive and had some lovely dishes and recommendations for this food. We wanted to try authentic Bulgarian dishes and he did not disappoint with kampara and bombar being two amazing dishes we tried. The effort he puts into his dishes shows. The house itself is super cute and cosy and had lovely plates and decorations around the room from Bulgaria. Was so pleased with this restaurant, it has made our stay in Bulgaria feel complete. Thank you so much!

A small and cozy restaurant with excellent food and very friendly service. The owner was great, explained in detail about the author dishes he offers and helped us pick.
The tripe soup in particular was very good.

Delicious vegetarian food with loads of options. Really nice to be able to have local traditional food without the meat. The restaurant is in a beautiful old building with pretty courtyard and Michel gives amazing service. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a tasty authentic meal in the old town

If you are in Bansko, be sure to visit Todeva House for some gourmet authentic food! (Definitely get the bread too!) it was my first time visiting Bulgaria let alone Bansko and Michael was helpful explaining the delicious menu items! He’s passionate about making the food he serves which adds to the wonderful atmosphere.

Todeva House was a rare find among rather disappointing tourist-oriented restaurants in Bansko. The owner and cook invites you inside and offers food and drinks. I was looking around to just have beer but I was easily persuaded to try his own wine and delicious, homemade bread - it's really worth trying. After you order it, the dough is placed in the oven and in five minutes a small loaf of white bread lands on your table producing pleasant fragrance. You must try it with tomato paste, it was the best I ever had. An owner is very friendly and happily explains origin of local ingredients and elaborates on more interesting positions in menu. I highly recommend it.

We went for dinner here twice because it was so good! For the love of God, skip the terrible cuisine by the gondola, and eat here. If you like great food, authentic family recipes, and homemade wine, this is the place for you. The restaurateur, Michael, is fabulous. Writing reviews is lame, but this is important information.

We got a personal recommendation to come here to enjoy the real deal when it comes to local food. We got more than we expected: locally sourced food (cheese straight from the mountain nearby!), Amazing home made food, including GREAT options for vegetarians (the potato pie and veggie stew are a MUST!).

The host was friendly and really passionate about his trade (some of the food on the menu are his personal signature!).

The place is located at the edge of Bansko old town (UNESCO world heritage) and the building itself is 150 years old, with a charming atmosphere!!

The wine and spirits were also great!

All this for a great price!

Highly recommend if you are on the look for a special place to enjoy the real Bulgarian vibe.

Truly delicious home made food. I wish we've been treated like this every where we go the respect we received made us feel like a royalty! Top 5 star service and definitely 100% 5 star food you could taste the love in every bite! Plus very reasonable prices, it's my first time in Bansko and I'll definitely come again! This is a fantastic restaurant in the old town of Bansko. We visited in January 2023 and Michael the owner made us feel very welcome, explained the menu and the local specialities. We had the home made bread and salad to start which were absolutely delicious. The pork knuckle was cooked perfectly and we walked away very full and happy. If you're in Bansko this is a must visit!

Todeva House is absolutely the best place to stay and to eat in Bansko! The accommodation was clean, organized, cozy and well located. The restaurant had by far the best food we tried in Bansko; Homemade ingredients and authentic recipes. Misho was a great host for both the hotel and the tavern - very friendly guy. Overall the stay was excellent! We’ll be back.

Food is out of this world! Beef cheeks and ribs are a must! Fantastic local cuisine and so cheap too! I cannot recommend more strongly.
