Something to see, just a little out of the way. Tour guide speaks English also. The bath house was the most interesting and greatest excavated. Museum had some very interesting pieces. The ear ring recently found and reported in internationally was great. Cheap too, only 5 Bulgarian, or 2.50€.

History is in the air. Nice way to show history to children as well - acient games, dig out treasure from the sand box, make your one pottery or jewls. Amazing artifacts in the museum.

Great museum with locally excavated exhibits to show the evolution and involution of settlements here : thracian, roman and even later on. The guide was great, he provided lots of interesting explanations in a good English, especially as the panels are only in Bulgarian. You can visit the ruins outside as well, I think that is free, but the explanations on rich and big colonia of Deultum are valuable.

The open exposition was mind blowing.
The museum was also fine and the tour guide has a lot to say about it.
This place should be more well known and not just a local attraction.

Wonderful historical reserve!
It is unfortunate that little is known about it, although it can be a lot to learn about the time of the Roman Empire, of Thrace and Moesia.
Visit the museum and the excavation area is undoubtedly necessary and important.
The work of archaeologists continue and obviously we can expect new discoveries and findings.

This is literally ancient history in its full capacity! The gentleman who welcomed us at the museum of The Deultum was very friendly, super knowledgeable, and he answered all our questions. It's sad that there's so little funding for the work the archeologists are doing. It's work that's not appreciated enough, and I personally think their efforts are taken for granted. Fees to visit the place are affordable, and I wish parents, schools, colleges would bring young kids more often here so a new generation of more curious and appreciative youngsters could be brought up. History is fundamental and pricesless, and in that part of the world, in BG, it's plenty available to see and learn. In case you're in the area, come, visit and learn🤙🏼

An amazing place which shows archaeology in action. Visiting the museum is a must but especially when you also pay a the little extra for the talking lecture, which was fantastic! The lady who showed us around the artifacts was a historian herself and took her time to bring those findings back to life in our imaginations. Thus, although the collection is not huge it was very enriching. The best thing is that this is first and foremost an active archaeological site with pending years of work, so you can see the overlayed ancient cities come out of the ground. Amazing!

Nice to see if one is in the neighbourhood, even if there still is so much to be discovered in future excavations. Great english-speaking guide, we had a lovely time and we learnt a lot
