Restaurant - Garden "Philippopolis"

Amazing place that mixes between historique and food, and interior design. I highly recommend this restaurant.

duck magret skin can be a little more crispy but v tasty still. the veal meatballs bouncey texture with good flavors, the dipping sauce delicious! v quick and friendly service. nice garden setting.

Lovely restaurant at the heart of old Plovdiv, at the garden of an old house, housing an art gallery.

Restaurant serves European cuisine at a higher than average price for Bulgaria, however worth every penny.

Would definitely recommend to everyone appreciating high quality food.

Customer service was very attentive
In fact we were really lucky to get a table there, as the restaurant got very busy by 8pm. Nothing was too much to ask. The waiters were very patient and friendly with our kids and recommended really nice Bulgarian wine.

We came from Sofia and stopped by Plovdit to have traditional Bulgarian food. We searched and found this restaurant on web to have traditional Bulgarian food and good ambiance... Ambiance comment was totally right 💯 But you can find limited traditional Bulgarian food... We chosen 2 seafood dishes, they both were great and tasty!!! Octopus was bit hard, don’t compare with Greek seafood but rice and souse was amazing!!! We will come wider time to have vine also...

This place has a special place in our hearts. My wife and I got married there, so my rating may be a bit biased 😁

All kidding aside, the food is very good here. Nice presentation, fresh ingredients and well prepared. The outside garden area is a wonderful spot for lunch or dinner.

Lovely restaurant with great service. Unfortunately not too many vegetarian main options. Nice selection of meat and fish dishes and a good wine list.

I've been living in Bulgaria for 6 years. I have had good food. I've had the worst food... But this.... This was gastronomy level good. I'm just gonne say it: this was the best bbq ribs I've ever had. The Margret duck was insane as well. Don't search any further when in plovdiv, just eat here.

Nice local restaurant in plovdiv old town. we’ve enjoyed high quality dessert like creme brule, it tastes cery light and quite sweet seems original style. Well experienced staff add more professional mood. Antique interior, nice location, gorgeous gallery upstair. Everything made us really really happy!! Thanks

A very nice atmosphere, a special food in the restaurant museum

Absolutely amazing food!

Had the duck/goose livers to start, which were so light which is amazing. The berry flavours complimented the liver so well - both me and my boyfriend were very, very impressed.

For mains, we had the veal I believe. It was stunning. The ugly pile is spinach and the spinach alone was AMAZING! I finished my boyfriend's spinach even when I was full and couldn't eat any more meat, because the spinach was so, so well flavoured. Best food I ate in Plovdiv.

I can't recommend it enough. It's worth the price, especially with the view. In London, this would be at least twice the price. So good.

(If you're looking for a fancy dinner in Plovdiv, definitely choose Philippopolis instead of Hemingway restaurant! This is so much better.)

Very nice restaurant with a beautiful garden in the old town of Plovdiv.
I Was busy eating so I forgot to take a picture of the area where we were sitting.
The food was really healthy, reminded me of my mother’s cookings. The boiled chicked was succulent, juice just on point. The caprese salad was perfect with its avocado sauce aside. And the biscuit cake dessert was smooth, not too sweet exactly just how I love.

Nice restaurant with lots of atmosphere and spirit in old town. The service and staff are very friendly . The food is very tasty.

Beutiful place, food was out of this world and the waitress was great, and helpful!

It was my first attempt at fine dining in Bulgaria and I have left with really nice impressions.
Dishes are amazingly tasty and prices are not even high for this type of service and restaurant.
It was winter time, so I could not see that wonderful garden with amazing views, but interior feels just as rich. I really look forward to come back in summertime.
Unfortunately I have to negatively comment the fact, that even at the restaurant of this level, we didn't all get the food at approximately same time, but with rather large gaps.
Still it was an amazing experience and I will be sure to come back.

Loved it! The staff was polite and efficient, the wine was superb, the food was delicious, nice atmosphere and lovely music. Strongly recommend!

Very elegant outdoor dining on a terrace/verandah, with high quality food and service. It was our final night in Bulgaria, also celebrating our son's exam results (which he had recently received), so it was the prefect place for us. A pity we weren't able to visit the art gallery, we'll save that for another visit. Recommended, and there are many good choices in Plovdiv.

We had an amazing experience here and would happily return. The salad, appetizers, main courses, and desserts were all excellent. A standout was the ice cream, which had great flavor. The staff was very helpful and gracious throughout, and the final bill was extremely reasonable.
