They have very big share even for starter. The food were fresh and nicely cooked. There is a park next to eat. Very nice location for the family with young kid

One of my favorite places in Plovdiv, a haven in the midst of the city! Wonderful all year round with their garden and interior dining rooms done in traditional Bulgarian style. Ivan the waiter is great: professional, efficient & speaks English. I highly recommend 19th Century!

Really enjoyed the Shopska salad. The garlic and dill potatoes could use more garlic, but overall they were great as well. Really a very peaceful spot at the corner of 2 very busy streets. Loved the little water wheel. The Zagorska IPA was really nice as an accompaniment to lunch as well. Recommended for a visit for sure.

Delicious food fairly priced and the place itself give you the vibes of the “XIX Century” :) A must go if you’re in Plovdiv.

Ivan, the waiter, was very nice and kind. Food was ok and the place is very warming. I would recommend it. Nice and friendly.

All these for about 60 euros. Nice traditional decoration and extensive range of local wines for about 8 euros per bottle. Strongly recommended if you want to have the feeling of a typical bulgarian tavern (mehana) with a twist of very folk decor. They provide a pleasant summer garden too. recommend

Great food and service in the heart of Plovdiv. Fresh and typical, fast even if it was busy. Many locals as well. Very good house wine! Very nice we tried chicken liver roasted and mixed with onions and spices...super!

Extensive menu, don't expect every dish to be available. Service is ok, little bit English. Traditional Bulgarian. Setting is 1900s, old typewriters, muskets, pitchforks etc. Mini museum.

Great traditional restaurant to take foreign guests. Bulgarian menu (*not* Chinese, as has been incorrectly reported) . Interesting traditional decor.
