বর্তমানে বরগুনা জেলায় ০১টি পুলিশ লাইন্স, ০৩টি সার্কেলসহ (বরগুনা, পাথরঘাটা ও আমতলী) ০৬টি থানা, ০২টি তদন্ত কেন্দ্র, ০২টি নৌ-পুলিশ ফাঁড়ি, ০৩টি সাধারণ পুলিশ ফাঁড়ি ও ০৩টি অস্থায়ী পুলিশ ক্যাম্প রয়েছে। বর্তমান বেতাগী একসময় ছিল পটুয়াখালীর সাথে, পরে বেতাগীকে স্বতন্ত্র থানায় পরিণত করা হয়। পূর্বে বামনা ও পাথরঘাটা, মঠবাড়ীয়া থানার ০২টি ইউনিয়ন হিসেবে থাকলেও পরে ওই ০২টি পৃথক থানায় রুপান্তরিত হয়। বর্তমানে বরগুনা সদর, আমতলী, তালতলী, বেতাগী, বামনা ও পাথরঘাটা এই ০৬টি থানা এবং বাবুগঞ্জ, চান্দুখালী তদন্ত কেন্দ্র, সদর, গাজীপুর ও রানাীপুর পুলিশ ফাঁড়ী, ফুলঝুড়ি, পদ্মা স্লইজ ও চন্দনতলা পুলিশ ক্যাম্প নিয়ে বরগুনা জেলা পুলিশের কাঠামো গঠিত। এছাড়াও প্রতিটি থানা ওয়ারী রয়েছে আলাদা আলাদা কোর্ট পুলিশ। এর বাইরেও সাদা পোশাকে ডিএসবি ও ডিবি পুলিশের কার্যক্রম ও অব্যাহত ।
