যশোর শিশু হাসপাতালের তত্ত্বাবধায়ক ডা. সৈয়দ নূর-ই-হামীম বাংলানিউজকে বলেন, সকালের রাউন্ড শেষ করেই শিশুটিকে রিলিজ দেওয়া হয়। তারা হাসপাতালের তিনতলায় ছিল। বিষয়টি জানার পরপরই আমরা হাসপাতালের প্রধান গেট বন্ধ করে দিই। পরে সিসিটিভি ফুটেজে দেখা যায়, ওই নারী শিশুটিকে কোলে নিয়ে দুই চার মিনিট আশপাশে ঘোরাঘুরির পর নেমে রাস্তার বাম দিকে চলে যাচ্ছেন। বিষয়টি তাৎক্ষণিক পুলিশকে অবহিত করা হয়। খবর পাওয়ার পরপরই যশোর পুলিশের একাধিক টিম হাসপাতালে পৌঁছায়।

যশোর উপশহর পুলিশ ফাঁড়ির ইনচার্জ উপ-পরিদর্শক (এসআই) এজাজুল হক বাংলানিউজকে বলেন, আমরা ঘটনাস্থল পরিদর্শন করেছি। হাসপাতাল থেকে প্রয়োজনীয় ফুটেজ সংগ্রহ করা হয়েছে। শিশুটিকে উদ্ধারে পুলিশি তৎপরতা শুরু হয়েছে।

যশোর কোতোয়ালি মডেল থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) তাজুল ইসলাম বাংলানিউজকে বলেন, পুলিশের একাধিক টিম ঘটনাস্থল পরিদর্শন করেছে। শিশুটিকে উদ্ধারে পুলিশ কাজ করছে।
