Ante is a fabulous host. His extraordinary knowledge about both the local areas and their history added to the experience as it gave us a greater appreciation of the areas we visited. The lunch was truly a culinary experience all on its own. The best potatoes we've ever had and a dessert that you wanted more, if only there was room. Ante's driving had us feeling safe as my friends all slept. A must do here. The kravica falls....you have to see it to believe it's beauty.

I could not say enough wonderful things about this tour. I had a group of 11, and was trying to find a way to get from Split to Dubrovnik, when I came accross this tour. What a great way to get from A to B and have one of the best experiences of our time in Croatia.

Ante (and his wonderful tour guide whose name escapes me - sorry!) picked our group up from our accommodation in Split, and from there began a perfect day. Getting to see the country side of Croatia and Ante's home village of Hardomilje, was wonderful. The country side was beautiful, and Ante's commentary was fun and educational.

Arriving at Ante's home was an unexpected treat. We met his mother who was working very hard over the meal she was preparing for us, preparing incredible bread, and serving a "snack" which could have easily passed for the main meal if we hadn't known any better. After our snack, we toured Ante's village which included a beautiful boat trip enjoyed while drinking Ante's incredible home made wine.

We then headed back for lunch, which was amazing. It was a lot of food made from local produce, accompanied with that spectactular wine again. Just when we didn't think we could eat another bite, Ante's mum had our mouth watering again with the most incredible cheesecake. I couldn't get enough of it (and I don't even care for cheesecake!).

After lunch we all headed to our accommodation in Dubrovnik, in a blissful state of food coma. He dropped us at the door to our villa (which was not easy considering the road leading to the villa!) and thus ended one of the most perfect days of our trip to Croatia.

I could not recommend this tour enough. It is the perfect example of the beauty and hospitality of Croatia. We have a group of family and friends from two different continents that like to get together in a different country every couple of years. Not only was Croatia our favorite destination so far, but our day with Ante and his family was one of our favorite days from all of our trips. Thank you Ante for giving us such wonderful memories!!

An absolute highlight of our trip! We had this booked by our agent and didn’t really know what to expect. The whole day blew us away. Vibor our driver picked us up, he was amazing lovely and lots of fun. The drive itself showed us some of the stunning landscape of the surrounding countryside. The farmhouse was beautiful, Ante greeted us warmly and legitimately made us feel welcome. We proceeded to have a fabulous afternoon with amazing local food, hats off Ante’s mum who’s cooking was top class. We viewed the local area including a boat ride down the pristine river and a visit to the old village. I’d definitely love to go back and stay overnight. Hopefully by the time I do, this little gem can still fit us in. Cheers guys it was a very memorable day :)

Unbelievable and Amazing Croatian hols!
Valerie and I  were Internet searching for a private tour in Croatia and came across Private Tours Travel Agency and read the reviews. They were all spot on! Ante arranged a 14 day itinerary for us as requested and he did not disappoint. We were introduced to the beauty and history of Croatia, and its nearest neighbours of Montenegro, Slovenia and Bosnia&Herzevigona. Ante's passionate explanation for his country  and the region was explained well.
The highlight of the tour for us was the one day farmstay for us at his home. The welcoming delicious food, wine and warmth of Ante and his mother was incomparable. Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast of local Croatian food 'Peka', gigantic beefy sweet tomatoes, home made cheeses, jams, liqueurs, cherry surprises, farm eggs and wine - made our day and trip; plus the sharing of the authentic local way of life! It was a very comfortable stay and was my favourite in comparison to the hotels.

You can even book day trips to do this part from Split or Dubrovnik. You won't regret it. Our only regret that we did our farmstay on day 3 of our trip  within our 14 days tour. Although he recommended good tasty restaurants to eat at for the rest of the trip-it was still the home cooked food that won us over 😊.
Thanks Ante for a lovely trip!

What a perfect day! This excursion with Ante was nothing like I have ever experienced; it was diverse, educational, fun, and refreshing. I traveled to Dubrovnik with my husband and another couple. The 4 of us were staying in an apartment in the heart of the old city and Ante was able to pick us up in the morning from the front gate (Pile Gate). We were running about 10 minutes late and were able to text Ante to let him know, he was quick to answer and very accommodating.

Our original plan was to stop at an oyster farm on our way to Ante home in a village in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where we would enjoy a home cooked meal, see the mini waterfalls and come back. However, on our way to our first stop (the oyster farm) we told Ante that we were planning on seeing Mostar another day and he offered to take us there that same day! This was so great because we were able to fit more into our itinerary while in Dubrovnik. The oyster farm was about 1hr from Dubrovnik, it was small dock with the most flavorful and fresh oysters! We stayed at the oyster farm for about 30 minutes after which we continued to Antes home. We had to pass 3 borders (Croatia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina into Croatia and again Croatia into Bosnia and Herzegovina) this is the way the country geography is set up. Ante spoke about the history of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, he was very knowledgeable!

We arrived at his beautiful home and were greeted by his lovely mom who prepared “appetizers” for us. The reason I included quotation marks is because this was a HUGE meal and not really an appetizer. I thought this would be our only meal! We ate fresh prosciutto and salami, freshly baked bread (from their fire place), zeppoli like bread, 3 different cheeses, different flavored jams, a bell pepper spread that was to die for (we purchased some to bring home), tomatoes and the most delightful cherry cake that I still have dreams about! We drank homemade wine and grappa (tasted different flavors, the cherry and honey were my favorite). Needless to say, our bellies were full!

We then went on to Mostar. Again, Ante told us all about the history and his experience with the war. On the way to Mostar we drove to Medjugorje. Ante even stopped for us to get some souvenirs. Once in Mostar we had some time to see the famous bridge take pictures and shop a little. It was the perfect amount of time as it was very busy and chaotic there.

Once again, we were on the road back to Antes home. This time we had our lunch which included veal with potatoes and salad and more wine and grappa. We finished our lunch with cake, cheesecake and Bosnian coffee. BEST MEAL EVER!!!

On our way home we stopped at his family home, visited their 2 donkeys and saw the mini waterfalls. Honestly this day was perfect! We all had such a great time and were so happy that we were able to meet Ante! Thank you Ante for this wonderful experience I know we will be talking about this for year to come!

I would give him ten stars, if I could. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We hired Ante for five days of travel in Croatia. He picked us up in Dubrovnik and drove us to Split via Ston (and a stop for oysters) and Mostar, with an unforgettable lunch at his family farm before arriving in Split. The other days, we toured Split and its environs, the Plitvice Lakes National Park, Hvar (with a special visit to Stari Grad), then finally back to Dubrovnik via Ston. Great service for a fair price. Ante is a perfect host and guide: knowledgable, accommodating, friendly, kind. And always on time, if not early! The best guide in Croatia is now a lifelong friend. Thank you , Ante!!!!

Great food! With a bit of history with every bite. Ante your mom is a one woman restaurant. Everything she cooked was just so good to the senses. And your place is so clean & homey. Highly recommended!!

Ante's mother is a genius chef. The food is heavenly that you just help yourself with second helping despite being full.

Everything is excellent! Anthony Bourdain should have been here and he could have tasted Mommy’s peka. Highly recommended! A must for those who love local cuisine and hospitality.
