Discovering Hunting Ground in the quaint town of Sale was a delightful surprise. This unique cafe not only offers artisan coffee and delectable food but also showcases an array of thoughtfully curated goods. The meticulous attention to detail is evident in everything, from the products on sale to the food's presentation.

My choice, a hearty breakfast wrap brimming with scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, and relish, did not disappoint. To sweeten the experience, I indulged in a Snickers ball, which was every bit as delicious as it sounds. My companion savored an egg, bacon, relish, and cheese muffin, and his contented nods said it all. We were both faced with a dilemma when it came to desserts — with so many tantalizing options, it was truly a challenge to choose. I eventually settled on a carrot and walnut cake to take home, a choice I didn't regret, given its moist and fresh texture.

But what's a cafe visit without coffee? I opted for an iced latte with lactose-free milk, while my friend went with an oat latte. Both were exceptional and it's worth noting the extensive milk variety available. Beyond the food and drink, the service was impeccable, ensuring I'll be returning soon.

For anyone passing through or residing in Sale, Hunting Ground stands out as an unexpected gem, exuding charm and quality in equal measure.

Sale (and East Gippsland) have really been put on the map now, all thanks to The Hunting Ground.
Hidden away on the back streets of Sale, this place has it all.
Home made decadent treats that have been crafted to perfection are just the beginning.
This cafe brings together the finest local produce there is, showcasing it in a classy, elegant way.
There is plenty of parking, but little seating.
The coffee was done really well but the dessert was just divine.
The staff were accommodating with one staff member always available to give you a run down of the products they sell. However the staff seemed pretty run down.
This was an amazing experience and it's so nice to see a country town produce something so spectacular that it's worth the drive.

Sorry, only managed to snap the remnants of this remarkable croque monsieur as it was quickly disappearing. A serious rival to the oozy Susie at the long paddock in Lindenow. Would like to be able to sit and enjoy in store but space is limited, so lakeside will have to do 👍🏻

Stayed at the motel across the road and went here for a coffee. Ended up getting a falafel wrap and a greek salad too since all food looked incredible! Best falafel wrap I've had and coffee and salad was superb. What a gem! Sad it's not closer to Melbourne.

Great coffee and friendly staff. Staff make an effort to remember your coffee order and are always welcoming. Good range of local and Australian made products available alongside the Cafe food and drinks also.

This place was actually a surprise. Thinking it was a small walking type coffee shop with some snacks instead I found a bouquet type store. They sell different foods, variety of honeys and gins, as well as teas, candles, mugs, and various other items.

They had some great choices of take away food and their coffee is the best I have found in Sale so far. They use premium coffee with quality milks (lots of types to choose from).

I have already been back multiple times for coffee.

Great food and coffee with the bonus of a great range of local hand crafted things from body products and candles to an amazing range of foods and sustainable items. Also all of the staff are so friendly which makes it all the better place to go. I love everything about the place and it's always such a pleasure to go to. My sister and I always walk out with a smile and a great start to our day!

Don’t bother going anywhere else. Spectacularly good coffee,, superb quiche and amazing cake. Plenty of choice for all diets. And a great range of foodie yum yums to take with you. We will be going back for sure.

Coffee is simply the best in Sale Victoria, why not grab some of their home made slices while your there or a freshly made salad or roll. Great food and wonderful service you won't be disappointed if you stop by on your travels.

If you want a delicious coffee, then the hunting ground is the best place to get it in Sale. It is a very quirky cafe and the staff are always friendly. They always have a beautiful spread of food whether you're after something sweet, savoury or something to take home for later. I can never stop myself at just getting a coffee because everything looks too good! If you get a chance to try their raw paleo choc peanut butter mousse, I highly recommend it! The only improvement I can suggest is offering a discount on coffees for people who bring their own 'keep cups'. A lot of cafes are doing this now to reduce the waste and to help out the environment. I'd absolutely love to see the hunting ground supporting this movement.

Hands down best coffee in Sale. Limited seating available, but it's an easy walk to the park to enjoy your coffee. They also offer some groceries, salads and sandwiches. The potato salad is addicting (and I don't even like potato salad)... consider yourself warned.

My bridesmaids sent me an amazing grazing platter from The Hunting Ground and every product was super fresh and quite possibly the best selections I have ever had in a platter. I’ve eaten it for dinner last night, breakfast and lunch and there is still more. Super tasty 10/10 recommend, thank you!

I was so pleased to find this cafe, I had the falafel, zucchini and pea wrap and it was absolutely delicious. Very friendly staff and beautiful clean space, great range of food and homewares, will definitely be going back next time I’m in Sale!

This is a wonderful shop with beautiful handmade goods covering food, locally brewed spirits and beers and wines. All beautifully crafted and presented. Salads to take away, different and well packaged, environmentally friendly.

Delicious celery and chicken wraps, really good coffee as well. Friendly helpful staff. Good homemade tomato sauce for sale as well as gluten free puff/shortcrust pastry as well!!

Great coffee, delicious fresh food for lunch, and plenty of interesting treats in the shelves. The sweets are delicious; especially the peppermint pots! To the person who said “not wasting my money here” - your loss! Hunting Ground is a gem in Sale, I just wish it was open all day every day!

Such a beautiful shop with a range of local food glorious food, produce and products. Delicious breky, lunch and dinners to take-away and awesome coffee. Love this place!
